Highly disappointed with the Balkan Bakery’s service. I called to place an order for a cake a week in advance and I was told that I could pick up as soon as noon on the specified date. When I arrived for pick-up (which should have been a normal business day for the location), there was a handwritten sign taped to the front door that said the bakery was closed. I’m not sure why the woman over the phone took my order if the bakery was going to be closed on the date I requested or why it wasn’t communicated during/after the initial call that my order could not be fulfilled. Read moreEditing to add: I went down to four stars because I haven't yet had a good coffee there. The food is fabulous, though. Once I ordered a cappuccino that was too milky and nearly no espresso flavor. Today I tried the double whipped coffee, which I think some people will like, but I don't like sugar/sweet coffee, and it's sweet like candy as well as iced, and the menu doesn't indicate anything about it being served cold. Typically cafes will have hot and cold drink in separate places on the menu.

Read moreI have been a regular fan since shortly after Balkan Bakery opened last year, when I caught "Bakery" out of the corner of my eye, passing through Mogadore. We go weekly for late Friday afternoon lunches and are always warmly greeted and served fresh and terrific lunch, breakfast, salads and Serbian dishes and pastries.
