This place has never been fantastic. Decent food, good prices, but the service is usually either middle of the road at best, to downright awful at worst. But my wife and I (and often many friends and siblings) kept going back because they had the absolute best Karaoke show in the area on Thursdays at 9pm with KJs Jason and Bryan always pulling in an awesome crowd and having over 60k songs to choose from. Great energy, great vibe, just an all around amazing show.
So, tonight, we arranged a babysitter, I requested PTO off for tomorrow (because I can't do late nights and still work the next day like I used to) and we went in tonight for karaoke like we usually do. We got there around 7:45pm and after about 5 mins, our server came to our table and let us know she was the only one serving that day and thanked us in advance for our patience. The place was absolutely packed to the brim because of the NFL draft, and I can tell she did was doing her best (and actually doing very well). That said, we noticed that Jamos was playing the draft audio on the loudspeakers which is odd because they never play anything but music normally. Around 8:30, we started asking if they were still doing karaoke that night, and we were assured that yes, it was happening.
9 rolls around and the karaoke hasn't started yet. I walk up to Bryan and ask if they're still doing karaoke tonight, and he advised that management wouldn't let the him start yet because they were waiting for the NFL draft crowd to die down, but that he was hoping to start around 9:30.
9:30 came and went and management still wouldn't let Bryan start karaoke. The regulars (ourselves included) were all incredibly annoyed at this point because the restaurant should have just announced ahead of time that karaoke would have been delayed or canceled. My wife and I would have just made other plans.
At 9:45, they still hadn't let Bryan start and so my wife and I decided to leave. We asked for the bill only to find out that the POS/FOH system was down and they couldn't ring us out. So we had to sit there for another half hour waiting for our bill so we could pay and go.
We left at 10:15 and by that time, they still hadn't let Bryan start, 75 minutes after the scheduled start time.
We found out later that management told Bryan and Jason that they wouldn't get paid for the time between the scheduled start time and when they were finally going to let him start (despite it being Jamos' management who wouldn't LET them start, even though there were a large number of regulars who were there waiting from the beginning to sing) and then decided to fire Jason and Bryan as their KJs.
So now, the only redeeming quality about Jamos Live is gone. They no longer have the best karaoke show in the area, all because they wanted to stiff these guys two hours pay.
Don't bother with this place. Average food, average prices, but management is dishonest and unethical, and for that reason alone, I'm out and you...
Read moreThe food was very good and large portions. However, the staff seemed unprofessional and rude. Very similar to the staff at the regular Jameson’s. My friend and I came in for dinner and they placed two food menus on our table, and then the waitress came over asking what we wanted to drink. I asked her for a drink menu and she goes “you don’t have one?” Well no, that’s why I’m asking. Then, i ordered the grilled cheese that the menu said came with tomato basil soup and a side. I received my food with just the fries and no soup, so i asked the bus boy if i could have that. He sent over the manager and the manager said, “well actually, that’s a mistake, it’s one or the other. But since it’s on the menu and we don’t want to ‘piss you off’, I’ll give it to you. Next time though, it’s one or the other.” That’s not really a professional way to say things as a manager. I’d like to say they will even out the kinks since it’s a new place, but going off of how Jameson’s staff isn’t the friendliest either, not sure if...
Read moreHonestly, it’s easier to list the good things about this place than what went wrong because what went wrong is a long list. I got wings and they were large. There, that’s the good. Now for the bad. To start, who charges a cover at 7 when the band doesn’t start until 9? We’ll be gone long before the band comes! They completely messed up our order. Didn’t bring silverware. When they did it was missing forks. The music was BLARING. Literally couldn’t hear each other speak and mind you, it’s Friday at 7. That’s fine if you’re there later to drink but I’m just trying to have dinner. Then the shirts. I’m sorry “I stand for the flag and kneel for the cross”? I’m sorry I thought this was a restaurant? It just looks so lame and pandering. Like just have your restaurants logo on it and go. I have to be honest. We only came here because Stoney Point was packed and had nearly an hour wait. Let’s just say there’s a reason Stoney Point stays busy and with a wait and Jamos Live was empty. Won’t be...
