A little pricey & very much spicey but that's what thai food is right? Spicey? However, the food was good but it's cold in there during the winter. Had to leave my coat on each time I went. I think they keep the thermostat turned way down probably to save money. Also as much as I like babies & tots I really feel that the owners shouldn't really bring their child every single day & evening right in the middle where the customers are eating. I just don't think it's a good idea. Some customers want to get out of the house to relax & away from their kids to enjoy a quiet night out only to see a little one right there in front of them. There's other places the little one could go to. Maybe the grandparents house or relatives, pre school or a sitter? Anyway their daughter is cute & sweet no question about it but it's still a restaurant & customers may not like that but other than that, the food is good. Dont think I'll be back because I can't afford it each time. Getting to be expensive. They need to have a reasonably priced lunch menu like the other thai restaurants do. I found a few other thai places that are much cheaper & the food is just as good & then there's Icy Bubbles in Moline that not only serve ice cream but thai coffee & bubble tea there as well. I do think the owners are very pleasant though & I wish them...
Read moreI really wanted to love this place, but the prices are very high for what you get and 2 out of the 3 things I ordered were lacking. The pad thai had good flavor but there was only about 8 little slivers of chicken in it and the container was only about 2/3 full. 18 dollars plus tax for just noodles? I also ordered a side of sticky rice, which came in your average take out fold box, at over 5 dollars for just a side of sticky rice I was expecting a normal sized portion, but i got a disc that was about half a cup of rice form into a smashed pattie that was crusty on the outter bits and wrapped in plastic wrap.... and lacked the steamed earthy and woody flavor, are you kidding me? It was not enough rice to even be one serving, and I should be able to grab my own portion of rice out of my container and smash it with my hand, not get a smashed disc of rice that is crusty on the outside...was I suppose to get a bigger portion of rice but recieved the bottom of the barrel? I make my own sticky rice at home and it costs me about a dollar to make about 8 servings of rice....I thought it would be nice to not have to soak my own rice and get out my basket, pot and towel. The coconut milk based soup I ordered was pretty good though. I would probably come back and just...
Read moreMy in-laws, husband, and I were in town to see a comedian at The Mark and all the restaurants by the venue were pretty small and already packed - surprise! Anyways, we drove out about 6 miles headed to Village Inn, across from it was Thai Flavors.
Upon walking in we were pleasantly greeted by the down-to-earth, gladly empty, space adorned with the owner's daughter's art along with the daughter crafting away at her little desk in the back (that was me growing up at our family restaurants too). The owner's smiling face gave us menus and stated we order at the counter.
We were in a bit of a hurry to reach our show in time and this was our best shot at getting a tasty dinner. We tried the banana smooth and thai coffee boba drinks, both were tasty (boba is as soft and fluffy as can be), topped with whipped cream too! In-laws wanted something quick and light, so they opted for the sampler appetizer which were pretty good. Husband enjoyed the beef pad thai and I loved the tom yam noodle soup which had wonderful broth and the noodles were cooked to perfection.
Service was friendly and quick, I highly recommend a visit! I'll be salivating at the thought of this tom yam noodle soup until my...
