Village Inn — Restaurant in Moline

My kinda place for good ol' American Family Values and good ol' American Family cooking. I can't say for sure which I enjoyed the most: the comfort of the friendliness of the Manager and the kind lady serving me; the attentive service and being treated like a VIP, although the night in question - my very first visit to this establishment- I was wrung out from having been sick with something like the flu for a few days and looked it......bedraggled would be kind.......; or perhaps it simply was the wonderful food that revived me and put me squarely back on balance after not eating for 4 days.......; or maybe it was the relief of having walked into an unfamiliar restaurant feeling so rocky, kinda needy, but times being what they are, not expecting a whole lot, praying the food would be bearable, that my ruffled appearance would not be off-putting, just wanting to get fed and get home ----- and discovering immediately, when i couldnt decide what i wanted, what i could get down, that i was going to be treated like royalty, with the utmost patience, being offered gentle suggestions with no pressure, and throughout the few hours I ended up spending there because they made me feel so welcome, engaging me in conversation telling me about their wonderful customer base while partaking of the best meal I'd eaten in months........No - I can't say for sure which of these things I enjoyed the most......but you can be sure I will keep going back, again and again, until I can figure it out. Besides - I didnt have room to try...

○ Sunday 07,2021 I do not know why I returned to this place, if the last times I have not had a good experience. And this time was not the exception either, they took my order, but they came back to my table with it almost after 25 minutes, seeing how they served others after I arrived, you feel broken parents, without the pancakes, the waitress is never again. appeared, not even to see if anything was offered to me. A truly Nefarious and poor service, all the waiters indifferent. I will definitely never go again.

●On Sunday I was here, the wait is not long, the waitress's attention took a little while to take the order and to bring our food ... the overcooked eggs, they were not as I asked (I ate them, because I did not want to wait They will change them) but the ham, in truth that was not craved, it seems that they gave me the leftover pieces and dry. My cold pancakes. In the kitchen (I had to see) they should have a mask, they talk a lot when serving food. (That is a recommendation) I had already gone before and everything was excellent, that's why I went back. But this time, not so good. If you don't ask for more napkins, they won't give you. I hope they take a solution to how they serve. Everything else very clean,...

Called in a pie pickup order for 10/23 at 5:30pm at about 9am earlier the same day. Showed up at 5:20pm to pick up my (single pie) order and the older lady handling the front entrance seemed to check for my order and told me "It'll be a few minutes". I thought that was strange considering there was nothing going on at the time but no big deal. 15 minutes pass and I was never checked upon again by several other staff walking by. Finally 20 minutes into waiting I spoke up to the original lady about my order. "I just need to pick up my pie, is it done?" She responds "It'll be out when your food is ready" I respond "I don't have any food to pick up with it, just the pie". Then she proceeds to ask me about my pie order like she never checked for my order in the first place. So basically I had to wait 20 minutes (Which should have been a 2 minute transaction) to pick up a pie order that was done and ready to go because my order was not checked properly in the first place. Was disappointed in the service with no signs of staffing shortages...
