The food was amazing but the service was abysmal. It was raining very hard the night I went. The restaurant was pretty empty but they had us in the waiting area for a hibachi table when there was 4 hibachi tables and only one was dirty. I sat at the table for 10 minutes before someone came and took my drink order. I got a tequila sunrise to drink and it hardly had any alcohol in it and it was incredibly sweet. It was another 10 minutes before anyone came back for the food order. I was about to leave because it seemed no one had any interest in serving me. While I was waiting I noticed the ceiling was dripping behind the bar. I got my soup and salad about 15 minutes before the chef arrived. I wasn’t finished but the server took my bowls without asking if I was done. The chef was amazing and did all of the little tricks you would expect for a hibachi chef. He was very nice and cooked the food perfectly (I had the steak, lobster, and shrimp). I was almost done with my food by the time anyone came to ask how the meal was and it would be another 20 minutes before I was able to ask for the check and then 10 minutes to receive said check. I did notice they had a ton of take out orders and I see why. Amazing food and horrible service. Order it from home so you don’t...
Read moreI'm truly disappointed after hearing about this place 6 months ago. The lo mein was the best thing about the visit. When we were received by the waitress, we felt unwelcome. This was over an hour and a half before close. We ordered water after a peak at a very limited sake selection and she rolled her eyes at us. She came back about 2 minutes later to take our order and we ordered a sashimi appetizer. I asked to have a few more minutes to order the entrees. We were told their sushi bar was closing any minute so we had to hurry to get our sushi orders in. A rainbow roll and a mango roll. Both were below average in build and taste. Shogun's mango roll blows this away. This was among the worst rainbow rolls I've ever had. We also ordered a filet and scallops from the teppenyaki menu and received what looked like a 4oz serving of overdone filet. Even the scallops were less than amazing. Instead of getting a side of sauces for the meal, we were given a squeeze bottle. It was painful having to ask this lady for anything extra. I think she was busy being a parent to her son who was hanging out in the dining room. Happy to report I'm not sick from any food born illness so there's a plus. Will...
Read moreI ordered three sushi rolls and a salad. The salad dressing was the absolute worst Asian salad dressing I've ever had; it was basically ketchup, mayo and ground carrots. This is not indicative of the actual traditional ginger dressing. It is a cheap shot and tastes exactly like bad Thousand Island dressing. As for the sushi, it was just average, and the scallions on my hamachi maki were flavorless (When were they sliced, last week?). The sliced ginger tasted faintly of mold - an indicator the serving container has been open too long. There was no bottled gluten-free soy sauce available (Tamari is the industry standard). By the way, even the wooden sushi bar itself was installed sloppily and incorrectly - it isn't level. All objects tend to slide/roll away from the customer toward the Hoshizaki cooler - so weird. This place is being run by a lot of young people who are native Mandarin speakers and do not have enough proficiency in English to communicate with...
