Beware you will be overcharged 3% if you pay with a credit card. Upon picking up my food I was told the total, after paying with my credit card the paper I had to sign was a different number. They had a checkout fee listed on there that increased my bill over a dollar more than the total I was told it was. I questioned the lady about what this checkout fee was and why was my total hgher than she told me. She said something about changing credit card processors and that was how they did it. I told her this is not normal, you can't tell me a total and charge me more. She replied well I don't know the total until I run it. This is a shady business practice. There are no signs anywhere nor was I told if I paid with a credit card there would be a fee. I told the lady that you should have told me I would of paid with cash. I do not appreciate shady things like this. I used to accept credit card payments with my old business and we all know the vendor eats the processing cost as a part of doing business and if they want to pass it on to the customer they raise their prices 3%. Buy stating a total and charging more it's considered fraud. Our food was good but I cannot condone this sort of business practice. It's shady and deceitful and just not honest. If Frankie's changes it's policy I will ammend my review but until then everyone should know they are robbing people without their knowledge.
EDIT: I thought I should edit my review due to the owners response. First off there was no sign at the door or at the counter. I'm including a current image I took today as proof. Also, I was not told anything about a checkout fee when I offered to pay with my credit card. I didn't know about it until I got the receipt to sign, that's when I questioned the Lady because she told me a total and what was on the reciept was higher. Only after I questioned her about it did she say anything. I've never been to a restauraunt where I was told a total and then charged more. After that happened I looked everywhere for a sign at the counter and did not see one. Any business that does this these days typically tells you there will be a extra fee if you pay with a credit card before they charge you. Maybe this is your new policy but not telling people there is a fee and charging one will rub people the wrong way. Like I said next time I go back if you have a sign out or tell me your going to charge me a service fee for using a credit card before I pay I will amend my review. But I'm not a liar and have the front door image as proof. The only signs that are on it are the forms of credit cards you accept. Nowhere is there a sign that mentions a ...
Read moreThe third time we were overcharged was not a charm. It was the night before I was to have some difficult surgery and I was preoccupied. Knowing I had to eat my husband gave me a choice. I wanted local and needed comfort food. Frankie's it was, knowing that each time we had been there since Covid there was some sort of issue. Even with his weekly pizza pick-up, it has been hit or miss. The last time the pizza was burned to a crisp. The kitchen still let it go through because my husband will say nothing. That ended last Sunday.
We ate, he got the check, put his hand on his forehead and said "not again!". Visibly angry, he waited until we were outside to tell me we were overcharged. Again.
I wanted to go back immediately. He said it was a lesson learned. On the way home I called, complained of the $12 overcharge, was offered a credit on a future order or cash. My husband waited in the car, I went inside and told the young lady I had been overcharged. She handed me the $12 and said "here ya go".
I responded that good business policy would be to apologize for their mistake and our inconvenience. Her response was, "oops, sorry" before she turned away. Huh?
The waitress whom we had has been there for eons. She was on the other side of the counter pretending not to hear. She was also the one who answered the phone when I called. She will also be the one who no longer gets the 20 percent plus my husband always tips.
I have not seen Frankie nor his wife around the last few times we ate there. When they were around throw-aways were rarely sent out of the kitchen, and at least his wife was pleasant. Whoever they handed the management over to is running the place to the ground. I always always try to support local business first as I was elected the youngest person ever and first female Chamber of Commerce President in a neighboring community for good reason: small biz is the backbone of any thriving community.
Brian's burgers and breakfasts are the bomb, Nad Tatrami strives to preserve tradition but often with a twist, Labas reinvents its wheel occasionally and saves only the best of its food and wine menu, Home Alone (my nickname for it) is reopening the kitchen...

The soup was warm and comforting, the pasta was perfectly cooked with rich flavors, and the pizza⌠wow! So good! Just keep in mind that the pizza takes a little time to prepare, but trust me, itâs worth the wait.
