Happy House — Restaurant in Monett

We used to love this place. Very disappointed today. Not much available that was fresh on the buffet. There were flies and gnats all over the dessert bar, mentioned this to waitress. Her comment was "Yes, we know it's an issue, but it's so hot in the kitchen they have to open the back door and with the drive up window, bugs come in that way as well. We usually have to place plastic wrap over the dessert, but we didn't today." The vents in the ceiling were absolutely filthy!!! A ceiling speaker looked like it had thick dust/grime or mold all over it and it was right above our table! It was disgusting! Other ceiling areas had what looked like black mold and damage from a leaky roof. We felt like nasty stuff was going to fall in our food from the ceiling. , Every time I visit this restaurant we're charged a different price , the buffet doesn't change it's always the same subpar food so why change the prices depending on the weekday. It's not my business however it's my money helping support your business and that you've lost , plenty of dinners in monett that have consistent prices, the only thing consistent at happy house is poor food poor service and a belly ache when you leave... Food was cold and not fresh at all for being 515pm on a Saturday , service was extremely poor and restaurant was not busy, and even if it had been you serve yourself , except drink refill , cleanliness could always use improvements as...

Happy House is a great place with amazing staff and a decent buffet, it averages between $10-$15 a person, and toddlers 3 years and under eat for free. So it is supper family friendly, which we love! They have the usual foods like: fried rice, cashew chicken, broccoli beef, and egg rolls. In addition they have some souther food like fried chicken, rolls, and fried okra, then for the healthy options they have a full salad bar and a small fresh fruit option. On top of all of that they also have a few foods they rotate out depending on the day. My favorite dish here is the cashew chicken, crab ragon, and a side salad with lemon water to drink.
