If you're looking for a classy polished Metro Bar and restaurant experience, do your best to steer clear of Boyles Tavern. What you will find here is pretty much exactly the opposite of that. Boils, I throwback Speakeasy Style Bar, has that locals only feel that is increasingly hard to find in Monmouth County or anywhere. It is essentially just a house in a residential area that, when you go inside, holds what I'm sure a lot of people will call their own secret spot. They have a pretty impressive selection of craft, local, and major brand beers on tap but do not come here looking for food. I suppose they have a kitchen but they do not have a menu and as far as I know nobody has cooked there in years. Your options are limited pretty much to just chips. I suppose you could order a pizza. But people don't come here for food. Boyle's has a full-sized shuffleboard table and a pool table as well as some video games, but of course with a place like this the best reason to go is the people.
