I was so excited to come to My Kitchen Witch-I thought the menu was great and the place was adorable. Before I even got to sip my coffee the manager Chris walked over to our table grabbed my phone and walked away. Me and the two other young women I was there with were in a panic. He then came back and told us we needed to be more careful how there were a lot of creeps out there and to watch out and walked away. The moment was so bizarre and I was so intimidated by the way he spoke and what he said, it wasn't until I watched him run some coffees I realized he even worked there. The definition of sexual harassment is interrupting someone to induce anxiety based on gender. When I pointed out how inappropriate this was to the staff I was told "this is his style of humor" and "he needs to cut it out the last guy lost it too". I've tried to speak to the owner Karyn several times. Things were left with a text "We are sorry for any inconvenience you had at our restaurant.. we are all moving on from here.. please have a good day." She hasn't spoken to me once.
**Update: the only contact I have received from the owner regarding the situation 3 days later was from the police saying they prefer if I don't return, the officer and I then reviewed what legal rights of action I have to take against Chris, Karyn, and my Kitchen Witch Cafe. As well as an e-mail from her through Yelp! saying that she retracted the photo I posted with this review of Chris the man who harassed me. When I contacted Yelp! they said since she pays for this forum she can control the photos posted. They’re Facebook fan page has also removed all reviews. The fact that she agreed to speak to me gave me her number and then said were moving on?! How are women supposed to feel safe in a space where the owner is not willing to comment on such distasteful behavior and be proud of the changes they took against? It shows that the seriousness of this situation isn't recognized and no...
Read moreI take great pride in reading and writing reviews. I count on them and they have served me in good stead. I can't remember when or if I've ever left a bad review but today is the day. This was my first visit to My Kitchen Witch. Granted the restaurant was crowded at 9 a.m., which is still no excuse for poor, even rude service. The servers were harried and it showed. No one greeted me for 20 minutes. While waiting for my breakfast inside, the kitchen apparently had a problem and the place filled with smoke. My clothing still smells of it. I proceeded outdoors to sit. When my order finally arrived, 45 minutes later, it was the wrong order. The eggs were well done after ordering over-easy. The toast tasted extremely odd. I will say the bacon was suburb but that's where it ends. One of the waitresses and a server did their best to be nice but my initial waitress never came back to check in with me. When I sought after my bill it was like jumping through hoops. I was unfairly charged for fruit which was a substitute for potatoes. I questioned the only nice waitress there and she explained it was a "charge -up". Huh!? At that point I couldn't wait to run outta there that I didn't even care, at the time. From all the good reviews I've read I'm sure this was an unfortunate exception for My Kitchen Witch but sadly, it was a very poor experience for me. I'm sure I won't be returning...
Read moreWe sat immediately… it’s now 45 mins and we still don’t have our food … servers came over and ask if my gf wanted tea , but no update on food . As a server myself the best thing to do to keep customers happy is to communicate . Be up front . Tell people there’s going to be a wait . It’s so disorganized here . I’ve seen at least 10 different orders go to outside dining but everyone inside is sitting here with their thumbs up their butt. Judging by the way things are , we won’t be back .
Update : 55 mins later , my girlfriends omelette had no taste and mine had half a plate of lettuce . Who the hell wants lettuce with their breakfast ? I got such a small portion of potatoes. The real kicker was they only accept tips in cash / Zelle or Venmo . As someone who owns a business myself rule number one is to never make it hard for your customers to give you money . Avoid this place at all costs . Amy’s up the street is way faster...
