Silver Eagle Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Monona

Have been a couple times and the food is good! Love the outdoor seating option, but this recent trip our bartender seemed to want to serve everyone else, including others in our group, but not us. The bar was relatively empty, so I can't see any reason to avoid making eye contact to put in a food order or asking if you want another drink when the empties are clearly pushed forward. We got a drink right away and had to grab her attention for the second, and after finishing that, we honestly gave up and sat with our empties for a good hour and a half before we left. Didn't take our empties and just gave us our second drinks right onto the bar. She even moved the napkins away from us to another customer even tho I had food just come out.... honestly bizarre as it would have been easy money off us to make another drink each and actually pay an iota of attention to us, I'm not even asking for conversation, but just to check on drinks/food, instead she just wanted to talk to the regulars and actively ignore us. Again just strange service to ask all those around if they want another drink,...

The food was great. I had the fish fried (3 pieces baked cod). Should have an old-fashioned with, but as it was REALLY busy I wanted to make it simple and not go crazy for the bartender. The service was better than average, and I figured it would be better if it was not so busy. Kinda crazy to ask a restaurant NOT to be busy though, right? Pretty much everything on my plate was good, the mashed potatoes were good. If there is anything to complain about, it was the bread roll. The bread roll isn’t my thing anyway, so not such a big deal. Yes, I have had some bread rolls that were amazing…so I’m not counting them out completely. Even the coleslaw was good. I do like mine a tad bit more tangy tasting, but U can’t ask for it all, right? RIGHT? The clam chowder was great btw. Over all, it was a nice experience, at least this time I remember. I had fond memories of this place probably over 30 yrs ago! Wonder if it still has the same owner. 😂 it was one of those nights hanging out with the boys and looking for a place...

The bouncer was the most apathetic person I've seen thats suppose to greet you. Drinks were too expensive, my bartender was rushing us to order drinks and when I told her a few times we needed a minute, she just ignored us from then on, couldnt even get her to come back and take our order. The music was boring and all only country. When my drinks were served to me they used open bottles of red bull and other sodas that were open since before we got there, just sitting on the bar infront of everyone. Not only is that gross but it makes our drink warm as hell. Bartenders were eating, then handling money, serving drinks and all without a hand washing break...This is the only bar we went to that night, ate nothing out of the ordinary, woke up at 3am puking my brains out. I went to the ER a few hours later and they told me I had a norovirus from contaminated food or drink...hmmmmm wonder where I got that from......will never...
