Amici Bakery & Pastry Shop — Restaurant in Monroe Township

I have been a fan of Amici bakery since they opened in Monroe Township. Growing up in Brooklyn it was frustrating when our family moved to NJ in 2000 as pizza , bakery goods, Italian foods etc were dear to our hearts but something was missing. Slowly but surely the pizza & bakery started showing signs of bringing out the quality I remembered. When Amici bakery opened I prayed that it would live up to the bakeries I remembered, Luigi Alba to name the Earliest of my memories. I know these days are hard for the Mom & Pop shops to make it but on Easter .I saw the owner sitting on the side of the counter when I picked up a birthday cake on Easter & had a conversation with him. It's a rough buisiness & hours are long. I truly appreciate you & your family for bringing the quality that I,we remember...

o I order a birthday cake,I get asked how I would like the cake, I describe how I would like said cake and also ask to have RUM added (as I had in the past),sure no problem,what else would you like,so we go on with type of cream,oh and by the way I reiterate, the RUM, make sure you put a lot of RUM,ok no problem they tell me,so we go on and finish the order,and for the 3rd time I remind them,please make sure ,extra.RUM ok? Ok got it ,would that be it? Yes. Tnku.

I go pick up the cake,looks very nice, Birthday comes, we cut the cake ,oh very good!! Hmmm wait,something seems to be missing, surprise surprise, yes you guessed it NO TRACE.OF.RUM!!! My question is,why can't you follow simple request, and tell me yes you will when in fact you do not do something that was specifically...

We purchased a cake from them 2 weeks prior it was 100.00 it was a numbered cake for my daughters 21st birthday and I must admit it was delicious we enjoyed it so we returned to have another cake made for my other daughters 16th birthday the lady remembers us paying 100.00 and the baker who wasn't professional at all said the price was now 140.00 and they wouldnt honor their price from 2 weeks prior they lost my business forever and would never recommend them to anyone very disappointed that they operate in this manner sorry just because their cakes are good doesn't entitle them to Rip people off!! Il take my business elsewhere no...
