Phenomenal Mexican food, much better than your typical dime-a-dozen "Mexican" restaurant! A bit of a mix-up with the food delivered to our table (waitress brought over an incorrect entree but never set it down to her credit!) and the music was too loud for our preference, but the food....the food was VERY good. My mother ordered the enchiladas (normally not my favorite) and they were delicious. I ordered the smothered burrito and wow! I could do with more complimentary chips (who couldn't???) but I understand.

Don't pass this up! The prices are very very reasonable but even if not, I'm more than happy to pay for quality. PLEASE do not go to El Torito-it is always disappointing and honestly the worst Mexican I've had.

Staff are attentive and cheerful. However, be warned that there isn't a TON of seating, especially for larger parties. But I guarantee they will make space.

I will never go anywhere else in Selinsgrove or anywhere relatively nearby. You'll spend more at every restaurant in that area besides Perkins, Dennys, or (cringe) Bob Evans. Do yourself a favor and at least pop in for appetizers to give...

Stopped in for what we hoped would be a quick bite to eat on a very long drive. Went several minutes out of the way to get here based on all of the good reviews.

This review has no bearing on the quality of the food because we never got the chance to try it.

We arrived and were sat around 5:30pm. There was one other table at the time. We ordered a minute or two after we were sat.

And then we sat there and waited for over 40 minutes as several other groups came in, were seated, and served. We never even received the chips and salsa that every other table got.

After a table that had came in 30 minutes after us was served their food before us, without our server so much as checking in with us, we decided it was time to leave.

We ordered two plates, chimi-flautas and chicken tenders.

I can't help but assume that because we didn't order much, that they did not think it was worth the trouble to serve us.

Having now added an additional hour onto our already 8 hour trip for nothing, we are livid at the service we received.

Unfortunately I cannot recommend the...

I had to follow up my husband’s review from a few hours ago. This place is the real deal, and I hope they do exceptionally well. I spend at least a month in Mexico over the winter and prefer eating at small family-owned and operated restaurants. La Cocina Del Don is absolutely what I miss, and I’m so happy we now have this in the Susquehanna Valley.

The complementary chips and salsa were fresh and spicy.

The Aquachiles appetizer was like ceviche (raw seafood “cooked” in lime juice) but more spicy. We like spice so it was perfect, and I’m glad they are bold enough to offer genuine heat in this somewhat spice-phobic area. (I would imagine they could tone it down for those not wanting so much heat.)

The Birria tacos were authentic and out of this world! Tender, slow cooked roast beef and (optional) cheese, stuffed into flour tortillas and sautéed till crispy. Flavorful but not spicy. Served with the beef “juice” for dipping and slurping—so good!

Portions are generous and there was enough leftover to take home for a light dinner.

Please support this...

We arrived 1 hour before they closed, not very nice of us we know. But you'd never know by the service and quality of our meal. My wife got the Mole enchiladas, and I got the Birria Burrito. The chicken mole was delightfully rich with an accent of nutmeg and a bit of heat that builds. My Burrito came with a small but perfect amount of their guacamole as well as a flavorful, but not too salty consumè to dip in. The birria was very tender, and the onions were firm and sharp. It's such a great combination. For the quality, this is a good value and restaurant not to be missed.

I have mixed feedback regarding my experience. The horchata was delightful, and both the guacamole and salsa were enjoyable. Unfortunately, the Mexican street corn was overly salty and heavily seasoned, making it inedible. Additionally, the veggie quesadillas were excessively greasy, and I could only manage to eat a quarter of the meal. On a positive note, my husband ordered the enchiladas and found them to be quite good. Overall, there were highlights and areas for improvement in our dining experience.

Probably the best local Mexican restaurant in the area. I had the Molé Enchiladas which has a flavorful chicken and a molé sauce that has a nice level of spice. It's topped with panela cheese, cilantro, and red onions. I got the horchata as a drink and it was deliciously refreshing. They use paper straws which are a nice and eco-friendly touch. The Salsa was given to us because the food was taking a bit longer than expected and it was good! The chips were warm, crispy, and the salsa's homemade. ❤️
