Sushi Masa — Restaurant in Selinsgrove

The food there is amazing!! We live right down the road and eat there often. This past weekend we went there for dinner as a family of six. I paid with my bank card at the meal. During our visit I was disappointed that our service was horrible compared to the other times we were there and it wasn’t even busy!! I always save my receipts until it clears my account. I wrote the tip on the card and signed it. This morning I look at my bank account to find that they are charging me more than what I authorized! I drove down there and asked to speak to a manager. To my surprise, the manager was the same person who waited on us! I told him I was in the other day with my family and he remembered right away. I told him that my card was being charged more than what I authorized. Without telling him the exact amount and not looking up the transaction, he opened the drawer and handed me the exact over amount that he was charging to my card!!! He KNEW exactly what he was doing and was shocked he got caught!! I told him that I could press charges for credit card fraud and he asked me not too and he was sorry. I am so furious this happened!! It makes me wonder how many other people they have done this too?! If you eat there, pay with cash or save your receipts until it clears your account because who knows if they will do it again!! I am still debating on contacting law enforcement over this so it doesn’t happen to...

The sushi is okay. It’s nowhere near the best I’ve had, but it’s not terrible either. However, it’s in a very convenient location, there aren’t any other local options, and the AYCE sushi was a tremendous deal. My family used to go regularly for the latter reason alone, but they never re-opened for dine-in after closing during the pandemic. We haven’t been back as a result and are so disappointed that we have no plans to do so at any time.

**ETA - We ended up trying their takeout for dinner tonight and when I pulled up, I saw several people standing on their front porch near a strange plexi-glass window. Everyone appeared to be annoyed. I quickly found out that multiple people had been waiting for their food for up to 2 hours. I waited 15 min after my order was supposed be ready (On top of the 40 minutes I’d waited since placing my order), learned that it hadn’t even been started, and cancelled my order. The food isn't great. It never has been. If it wasn't the only sushi place in the area they wouldn't be able to stay open with their current business practices.

The food is okay, but not worth their inflated a la carte prices. The quality is the same as every other CHEAP all you can eat sushi place and that's what they used to offer. That was worth it for the broad selection and variety. It really did save money for those who wanted to try multiple things.
