Absolutely Disgusting – This Hotel Should Be Shut Down!!
I booked 5 rooms at the Quality Inn in Selinsgrove, PA, and what we experienced was beyond unacceptable. Out of the 5 rooms, 4 were absolutely disgusting.
One of the beds had blood stains on the sheets. Another had a large urine stain. A third bed had a huge red stain on the comforter, and yet another had brown stains and a separate one had white stains on the bedding. It was disturbing and unhygienic.
To make matters worse, every single room had a foul odor — like smoke, mildew, and urine. While I was at the front desk, another guest came up and complained that her room smelled unbearable. She said it reeked of urine and smoke and immediately checked out. The hallways and all five rooms had stained, dirty carpets that made the place feel completely unclean.
They moved my brother to another room, only to find the same issues — stained bedding and a dirty atmosphere.
There is no possible way this hotel deserves a 4-star rating in reviews. This is by far one of the worst, dirtiest hotels I’ve ever stayed in, and I travel often. It’s a shame.
The only positive thing I can say is about the front desk manager, Alisa Shrawder. She was incredibly kind, professional, and tried her best to address the situation. She even called her general manager, Heather Mowery, to help resolve the issue — but unfortunately, Heather showed absolutely no concern or care. I went back and read through more reviews — and realized that these same concerns have been brought up by other guests over and over again. Clearly, nothing is being done.
Heather, it’s time to stop posting apologetic replies and actually fix the hotel. Your guests deserve better. This hotel is a health risk.
On top of that, the housekeeping supervisor came in, saw the issues firsthand, and apologized sincerely — because even she was embarrassed by the conditions. She admitted they’ve had ongoing problems with one of the housekeepers who has been repeatedly spoken to for not cleaning rooms properly. She also confirmed that staff had complained about the stained carpets, which may be part of why the rooms smell so awful.
This place needs to be shut down and thoroughly investigated. If you value cleanliness, health, and basic hospitality, do...

UPDATE: March 2024 We found this to be a good stay a year ago when passing through the area so we decided to come here again. Easy location to find. Check in was friendly. Room as clean with no problems or missing/ broken items. There was an exercise room. Lots of TV channel choices. Appreciated the nightlight in the bathroom. Bathtub had lots of hot water and our sleep was quiet. Breakfast was included. A clean, serviceable room with lots of tables and nicely decorated for Easter. Food was topped up and attended. Choices included coffee/tea/hot choc/juice/milk, hot/cold cereal, scrambled eggs, sausage, waffles (etc). On a regular weekday in March 2024 our room was about $100 after taxes
March 2023: Here is my review of what I think are the most important parts of my recent stay: BEDS: Very comfortable bedding. Soft luxurious feeling sheets and pillowcases. Even smelled really nice and not in a "perfumey laundry soap" way BATH: Had a bit of trouble with the temperature control which went from super hot to tepid very earily...as we were in the "accessibility room" (the last free room available, they told us) I thought it was perhaps dangerous for someone who was physically compromised to perhaps have the risk of burning themselves. Otherwise it was fine. The toilet was raised and had grab bars on either side. Tub also had a grab bar. BREAKFAST: Included and very good! Scrambled eggs/sausage/toast/bagels/cold & hot cereal/yogurt/fruit/waffles/milk/juice/coffee. I did not see an attendant there but it was all very clean and well-stocked. STAFF/SERVICE: Check in receptionist...
Read moreThe room was nice.
The bed was clean.
The floor should be vacuumed better as there were obvious signs it was only vacuumed where the staff felt it was important. The carpet could use a good shampooing as it had several stains on it. My personal recommendation for a local company is Dreeses Services does an excellent job. They are located in Sunbury, PA. 570) 495-4153
The toiletries in the bathroom were nice to have. I don’t care for the smell but at least they were available to those who needed them. So thank you for that. Someone had stayed in the room with really dirty hands at one point. It looked like they tried to use the hand lotion on the wall for hand soap since their hands so dirty. There was black dirt smears on it. They must have went and used the shampoo from the shower to wash their hands with. That also was covered in hand printed dirt. The bathroom sink back splash looks like it could be freshened and cleaned more frequently as there was someone’s hair from shaving stuck on it. There was also what looked like poop on the area where the toilet paper is. It is located on the front of the sink directly next to the toilet paper. Hard to see really because of how dark the sink is. But when you’re on the potty you notice it.
The Breakfast was very nice as well.
The staff were friendly and courteous.
I don’t complain about anything unless things are really bad. So that is why I didn’t mention the things above while we were still there. These are all small things that can fixed by a little extra care.
I have to say over all you have a nice hotel and I would stay there again and tell my friends.
Thank you for the nice stay and for listening to what I...
