I would suggest not going there. I had the mushroom burger, which was a platter, no bread. It was too charred and the reviews stating the meat wasn't seasoned were correct. It came with a 1/4 cup of lettuce (not iceberg, but I still didn't touch it) and two roma tomato wedges. There weren't any spices or herbs on that either. I won't eat salad that doesn't have some taste to it. Salad dressing isn't the perfect touch in my opinion either, plus, I didn't bother to ask for any because I hate when restaurants do this. Offer a real vegetable side that you actually put time into preparing or stop playing with my emotions. Anyway, that mushroom bitter burger wasn't going to cut it. I ordered a lamb gyro. I know I am black and all, but when I ask you for the Greek dip, and you try to correct me by asking, "you mean Grecian", I have to hold the anger inside. It's the SAME thing! The only reason I even said Greek because on their online menu (didn't see it on the one inside the place) it's called that, not tzatziki. I probably wouldn't have cared as much if I didn't pick up on the vibe from the waitress that she preferred we not be there. One in my party noted after we left, she was staring at us most of the time from across the room. I cut her tip because of that and the fact she seemed ready to correct me when asking what kind of gyro, like she wanted to see if I knew what it was called... Lamb! Blacks eat more than collard greens and hog maws. I definitely know meat as I am a picky eater. Yes, black people can be picky and not simply b* when eating out. I wouldn't have given her at tip at all if not for feeling the need to show her blacks know Greek food and we do tip, b....! One in my party also got the apple pie. As a baker, I know that was straight out of the box from the freezer section at Walmart. They need to lower their prices or put a little more pride in their cooking and the waitress needs retraining or let go. The one plus is that this place is clean and neat. I have eaten at a Greek dive restaurant before and the food was better and we had great service, much better than at Athena. I could go on, but by now you get the picture. Order the lamb gyro and skip the rest (you will need to order the GRECIAN imagine my eye roll) dip because it only comes...

Read moreI had read the reviews and thought I would give it a chance. When I give a review I really try to be honest. I have to say we were very disappointed. We ordered and the food came out so quick I was shocked, it was a beautiful presentation. My husband had the moussaka but I can say I'm 99% sure it was warmed up in a microwave. We could tell because parts of it we're cold and parts of it was piping hot. I had two different kinds of meat with rice and salad, my husband's came with rice and salad also. A few pieces of the meat we're hot and the rest cold, both of our rice was cold and the salad taste like it didn't have any dressing on it. My chicken was so salty it was hard to eat, I had to put it in the pita bread and load it with hummus otherwise I couldn't eat it. Our waitress was very nice. It was ran by youngsters who all liked to gather together behind the bar and on their cell phones, I didn't see a older adult anywhere in site. After that experience I don't think we will be back sorry to say😞 It was around 6:30, prime dinner time. It was also very dirty, the floor and...
