Little Country Kitchen — Restaurant in Monroe

I had seen good reviews about this little restaurant. I've found that you have to reduce most average reviews by 1-2 points to get an accurate estimate. A couple of weeks ago i stopped here for the breakfast special (2 eggs, grits, sausage, and coffee). I asked if i could exchange the toast for a small pancake and the waitress said yes, no problem. My bill was for the breakfast special plus $2 plus $4 plus a $2tip. That brought me to $16 for a simple breakfast from a Monroe diner. First time here. A friendly atmosphere pervades older tables and chairs. Rather like sitting down in your grandma’s kitchen, unhurried but service prompt. Coffee refills kept coming so my coffee was nice and hot for my whole meal. If you’re looking for upscale this is not your place but if you want a good breakfadt like your grandma would cook and serve to you in her own kitchen then this place is for you whether dining alone or with family & friends. Normally when we eat here the food is great. Today it was terrible my grits were not hot enough to melt my butter and cheese. They switched them out and they were still not hot but check this out. I only ate the country ham and a biscuit. When we went to check out not once did the management apologize for serving me cold grits twice she only asked if I was offered to get them switched.
