My family and friends recently held my bridal shower at The Little Mustard Seed on Sunday, July 7, 2024. While the establishment was absolutely beautiful and the food was delicious, I was quite disappointed with the service provided by the owner.
Unfortunately, the she was not the kindest person. She was unfriendly with the guests and made us feel like we were inconveniencing her whenever we asked for help. Towards the end of the shower, as it was almost time to leave, a friend of mine was trying to pour herself a glass of water, and mid-pour, the employee took the pitcher from her as if she couldn’t wait for us to leave. This behavior was very unwelcoming, and many of my guests noticed and talked about it.
It was truly embarrassing, especially since we spent so much money on the shower and continued to be nice to her despite her attitude. We still left a 15% tip, but I really wanted my guests to feel comfortable, and she did not help make that happen. Every time we asked a question, she responded in a very short and unfriendly manner.
Additionally, she did not explain that we had to serve ourselves the food or mimosas, so they sat there for a while because we did not want to overstep. She also did not take the foil off the food, which made it look even more like she was waiting to serve it herself. It isn’t a problem to serve ourselves, but she did not take the time to even explain this to us.
This day was supposed to be filled with so much love as we are one step closer to our wedding, and creating such an uncomfortable atmosphere was truly not acceptable. I hope that the management takes this feedback seriously and addresses the issue, as the venue itself has so much potential.
I will still recommend the venue because of how beautiful and delicious the food was, but I would seriously reevaluate...
Read moreMy best friend and I often share days together as she is chronicly ill, and I want to make her life as full as possible as much as possible. We usually get pegged as mother and daughter, but today I felt judged. Lkke maybe they thought we were "together". I will say immediately upon walking in, the place is gorgeous. Light, airy feel. Lots of floral decor. Very nice. We were greeted with a smile and told to sit wherever. We chose our seats and I asked if there was a restroom. She said yes and I went to look for it before ordering. I heard voices coming from the restroom so I wanted to ask the employee (maybe the owner, I'm not sure) if the restrooms were single or multiple stalls as I didn't want to burst in on anyone. The employee was busy with the only other customers in the place, but the conversation was ... not a professional one. I was hoping the employee would break away and at least offer us a menu. I got up twice more and even knocked on the bathroom door in hopes of alerting the person in there that someone outside was waiting. I have a bladder condition, so waiting too long can mean a hospital visit for me. I discussed leaving with my best friend since we were getting absolutely zero service and we decided to do so. I'm rather disappointed. I love the idea of "the mustard seed". I see the quotes on the walls and what they stand for. But the judgement my best friend and I both felt today was so uncomfortably loud. As we left I said to her, "I feel like that was done on purpose to make us leave," and she agreed. As a business owners, ourselves, we pride ourselves on inclusion and customer service. We value kindness and we know how far it will get you. Judging a book by it's cover has never made a winner of anyone. If this was a test,...
Read moreI drive out of my way just to visit the Little Mustard Seed Tearoom in Mont Belvieu. Their food is pretty great, but the best thing about this place is the amazing employees. Tiffany is always working the drive thru when I pop over to pick up my order. She is super friendly and courteous. She makes sure I have my utensils and napkins, and fills my to-go cup with plenty of ice because she knows thats how I like it. I had the pleasure of being able to dine in with a friend a few weeks ago, and Julie took great care of us! It was a superb experience. My go to recommendation is the Gentleman's Club on jalapeno bread and a bowl of soup. Tamale and cheeseburger soups are my favorite here. I also highly recommend the pimento cheese ball and their homemade spiced crackers. Although, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Everyone is always friendly. The ladies here work hard to make sure everyone has what they need, and to make each dining experience unique and pleasant. If you're in the Mont Belvieu area, or don't mind the drive for excellent service, please check...
