Came here on 4/22 for dinner before the Tiffany concert at the Shea Theater. Was seated relatively quickly. The waitress took our drink order. We waited and waited for drinks. Then someone else came and took our food order. Still waiting for drinks. We got the fries as an app and still no drinks. We had to grab extra napkins and salt ourselves from the bar area and some appetizer plates would have been nice. Ketchup doesn't really hold up well on a napkin. Our drinks finally came, about 15 - 20 min after we ordered them. I got the chicken quesadilla. It was just ok. The chicken had no flavor - definitely needed seasoning. My daughter got the pizza - the crust was not crispy whatsoever but rather soggy. She basically ate the crust on the edge for dinner. My husband got the meatloaf with asparagus, fries and a side of coleslaw. First, the meatloaf was burnt black and so dry (see photo). They didn't trim the woody ends of the asparagus, and the coleslaw was basically cabbage and carrots with celery salt. It had ZERO dressing. We had to ask for a refund. My friend wanted the BBQ pulled pork plate ( mac and cheese, pulled pork, fries and veg of the day). They told her the kitchen couldn't do the pulled pork plate. So she ordered mac and cheese with pulled pork with a side of brussels sprouts. We already had the fries as an app. Why could the kitchen not do the "plate"? This is the same exact food. Drinks were ok. My hubby is a bourbon connoisseur and hated his Turners Falls drink. It tasted like wood. Then when it was time to pay, the waitress brings over the little machine, sticks my card in it, and I realise it says the bill is $158. I look through the receipt she hands me after putting my card in, and it contained a dozen items that were not even ours. She issued a credit (which will probably take a while to hit my account) and then charged us the correct amount which was $83.58. The service was terrible and the food was just mediocre. They should have known it would be busy with the show around the corner. It was sold out and was stated all over social media. Sadly we won't be back here. At least we enjoyed the show....
Read moreAngry uncaring kitchen staff and complacent owner wrecked our meal. Researched area restaurants open late after grandmothers Friday night wake. Traveled a ways to get here. The place was busy and we were lucky to get a table for six. It was close to 9 by the time we ordered food. The menu pulled pork dinner was sold out, two of us wanted that. Oddly the pulled pork sandwich was not sold out. My wife selected the quarter chicken and son selected meatloaf as alternatives. Two do us selected the house “Voo” burger listed “cheese, slice chorizo, aoli, and asparagus” on the burger, one ordered a bacon cheeseburger plain with “spicy fries” , another a burger with no bread. Some got smashed potatoes and many ordered Brussels sprouts as sides. By now we notice kitchen staff bringing orders to the bar counter -crumping the order tickets into a ball and throwing them on the counter (or floor). Food arrived: no bacon on the bacon cheeseburger; Voo burgers had no chorizo or asparagus and were basically cheeseburgers with aoli. The Jamaican meatloaf was dried-out and inedible, the quarter chicken had hardly any meat, and the Brussels sprouts were burned (literally charred). The supposed “spicy fries” were regular fries. The only dish which was decent were the smashed potatoes. We told Ellen about the food problems. She brought some bacon, and comped the meatloaf. When asked if there was a Manager we could speak to, she said no, but an owner is here. The owner was sat drinking at the rear corner of the bar. Ellen reported our numerous food concerns to the owner, then told us she had done so. We asked “is the owner going to come speak with us?” . Ellen reported “no she is not”. We paid the bill with a large tip for good service, then spoke with Ellen some more while the owner laughing and drinking. This place was all the right elements to be a great restaurant- but the temperamental kitchen staff that ruined more than half of our order- and an uncaring owner - will have us NEVER GOING BACK. Servers Ellen and...
Read moreUpdate: I have no idea what happened last night but it was not the norm and I'm rather upset. We arrived a bit ahead of the rest of our party, about 2 hours before a show we were attending. We all placed our dinner order at 6pm, and the proceded to wait nearly an hour and a half for our food with only one drink check in and a quick your food will be out soon. We unfortunately had to accept our food, to go containers, and check in one go to eat as much as we could in 5 minutes and then rush out the door.
The biggest frustration was being totally ignored for the majority of our time there. We we're prepared to have a bit of a wait at how busy the restaurant was but the lack of communication, check ins for additional drinks, or any update as to why things were delayed so we could have alerted the staff to our time line really soured the experience. We sat there watching tables seated well after us finish their meals and leave, slowly seeing the restaurant empty but still nothing for us and no communication.
On top of all of this the food was significantly sub par to what we had experienced in the past. It felt like our order was either forgotten or given to other patrons, any level of communication would have really helped our level of frustration.
A fantastic fun fusion restaurant offering unique dishes and craft cocktails. The staff is knowledgeable and attentive. The atmosphere is fun and comfortable. The restrooms are clean and well stocked. The menu is small enough to not overwhelm while being diverse enough to have something...
