Really glad I stopped by this food truck that I wasnt sure at first glance if it was open or not. A little hard to spot from driving by, it’s one straight up from unity park. Hands down best beef shawarma sandwich I’ve ever had. Ever. As good as the food was, the owner/cook was even better. Without having yet taken my payment, he just handed me my food out of the window without saying anything but thank you. After telling him I hadnt paid, he said not to worry about it, his machine was broken or something, and just to come back and pay next time. No mention of this when he took my order and saw my card in my hand. This man knowingly cooked for me and was willing to risk losing money on me because he believes in good katma. I know this from the messages/stickers on his truck. I’ll never understand the hatred of immigrants. I continue to have so many interactions with people from other countries that are rooted in kindness and generosity that goes well beyond who I am as a person, and dare I say many locals around me. Do not sleep on this unassuming food truck. The food is beyond great - I've had a couple shawarma and felafel wraps, a lamb kebab platter for dinner, the flavors and consistent quality are just above and beyond. Amazing creamy, garlicky tsatziki, thick hummus, lamb kebab to die for, wonderful babaganoush, all served with a big smile by friendly guys who - let's be honest here - have brought us an absolute gift. They've had some location issues, first at the mobile station, then at the gas station across the street, now (at least when I'm writing this) on chapman street in the town parking lot. I’ve heard amazing things about the food here, and I don’t live anywhere nearby so when I was finally here, I really wanted to try them! Unfortunately they don’t update their hours or if they are serving, on google, which meant that I showed up to their usual location, per google, and they weren’t there. I called the number and it turns out they aren’t even open tonight, but had not updated google to properly reflect that.
