Complaint...again, while yes the cakes are delicious, my last complaint was the cake had very large chunk of strawberries. This complaint was 11/1/24 is their lack of getting the request correct. It was for a small wedding cake, themed day of the dead. I will post photos of the example, they marked, crossed out what was not wanted by the bride. What I was picking up was plain, missing side decoration. Now I wish we had recorded, maybe you should record when you order. My sister gifted the cake, an 8 inch, white cake, berry preserves, buttercream frosting. We were told it was like $50 extra for the decorations . I was picking up the cake, missing the side decoration. I was then told they didn't charge for the side decorations only the flowers on top and on the bottom. It would be 30 min and $15 extra. Now at this point, the photo that they had clearly had side decoration and were part of the order, now im told, sorry the person didn't charge for those. So I paid the 15 and waited the more than 30 minutes. They bring out the cake and it's beautiful, I've sent photos to my niece, she's now happy. A lady then comes back out and asks if I'm in a rush? I am, but not an absolute rush because the wedding was Saturday in Canoga Park. I was trying to avoid traffic and in Friday it's s getting worse. But I say not really, thinking I'm getting cake and leaving. She takes the cake, saying we want to take photos. WTF? Took longer than 30 minutes now they took another 5 minutes for photos??? So disappointed with the service, the manager never introduced her/himself, I believe the manager should have the courage to come out and speak to customers when there's an issue. I really didn't want to make a scene or have mess up the cake, because clearly they made a mistake, they had the proof. Read moreI have buy cakes at this bakery for over 20 years but for this past mother's day I pre-ordered two cakes, one carrot cake and one tres leches cake (total of 75 dollars for both cakes. They were totally not what I expected. I didn't want add a review cause I feel they won't do anything about it. But father's day it's coming and I'm hoping some people will look at this review and be aware. The carrot cake was totally dried really dried not moist like other times and the tres leches was the same thing not even milk was dripping like other times or moist. It just didn't taste like a tres leches cake. It was a filling of strawberies that felt some how dried as well. My mother who is 78 years old pick up the cakes and they made her wait for the cakes a long time. The cakes were not in the front on the refrigerator, they were in the back. I will guess the cake were ready since the pick up time was after two p.m. on a Saturday but we had to pick up after five p.m. customer service was horribly, the person helping my mother she probably didn't know what's she was doing cause she said she didn't speak Spanish but didn't get someone to help my mother and get her the cakes, she made her wait for a long time for the cakes, when she finally helped my mother and finished with cakes in the back, she didn't want to give her an extra bag so she could carry both cakes, each in each bag and the girl at the door who was greeting and opening the door to the people who was leaving wasn't kind enough to say goodbye after my mother told her thank you. I couldn't return the cakes cause I don't leave in Montebello, so it was very disappointing to see this cake and tasted them and now how the workers treated my mother. I hope other people have a better service than we did. I think next time will just go to Superior or Cardenas Market the cakes are...
Read moreI've never had a problem before but the time I did the customer service was very poor! I bought a carrot cake for my wifes bithday because thats what she wanted. We pre ordered the cake and everything looked fine from the box when I picked it up. We sang happy birthday and cut into the cake...a big chunk of green mushy stuff fell out! We then looked closer and found that their was some nasty green stuff (almost like it was old moldy pieces of carrot) throughout the cake. We were all disgusted and my wife's craving for carrot cake for her birthday was ruined. I apologized to everyone and put it in the fridge. The next day I called Amy's and the manager sounded apologetic and said to bring the cake in and they would take care of everything. When I brought it in the lady/manager made me feel like I was in the wrong for not eating it( she said "it would not have gotten you sick"). They gave me my money back but did not offer to give us a complimentary cake or pastry or rain check for next time! This cake I bought was for my wifes birthday party and it was ruined! The least they could have done was given our money back been very apologetic and give us a complimentary cake but not at Amy's...it felt like they thought they were too good to have made a mistake and that they have so much business that they dont care about a valid complaint!
Why didn't the person making the cake notice it went bad even if it happened during the baking process because I saw some green stuff even on the walls of the cake!
