Zapopan Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Montevallo

Great staff and good food! Huge and delicious frozen drinks. UPDATE: Go on to the one in Calera. That's what we do now. This one has gotten so ran down & dingy looking. To tell you the truth, the last couple times I went the food wasn't as good, the drinks were nasty and the management wasn't as nice. He acts like he could care less if you come or not and he's doing you a favor by serving you. Very arrogant man. Last time I went, my sister & I went there for lunch since she was craving Mexican food. I was telling her how great it was there, but I hadn't been there in a couple of years. I was shocked to see the poor condition of the place. Torn & tattered booths & floors, not to mention They were empty and nearly every table was dirty and food on the floor. It was rather embarrassing but it went downhill from there. The food was not good and looked really unappetizing. And service was non-existent. I had to get up from the table and go get someone to come help us. She had a problem with her drink and wanted to speak to management. He treated her very rudely. I love Mexican food and enjoy visiting them in many different Places while traveling. Unfortunately this one was a bit disappointing. Although this Place wasn't too busy and we were quickly seated at a table, the service was quite slow. Waited for chips & salsa, waited for Server to take our order, waited for the food, waited for our bill and waited to be checked out. Patience is a Virtue, and going out to eat should be relaxing and enjoyable, so "Waiting" would not be a major issue if the food and service were Good... Sadly they were not up to par for what we usually experience and have come to expect at Mexican Establishments.

If I were rating on food & service alone I would give this Place 2 Stars, but I have chosen to give it 3 Stars for its friendly-folk vibe as it appears to be a gathering Place where Locals frequent and enjoy conversation from across the tables. To some this might appear as rude or insensitive but to me it was somewhat refreshing to witness People actually engaging with one another rather than just occupied with their so called 'smart'...

I fell in love with this place when I worked next door at Roses but, since then, they have gotten mega rude and dishonest. Their chicken 'quesadillas' used to be a dream but, I guess they were so busy with their pale-skinned, frequenting customers that my $50 for ten quesos was beneath them. We ordered 30 mins. before we even went to Montevallo and they said it would be 10 mins. We got there 45 mins. later and our food was not prepared! We had to stand at the counter like lost children whilst someone in the back slapped together our 'order'. For $50, we got ten 'quesos' w/ hardly ANY cheese on a tortilla fresh out of the pack, not buttered across a grill, like usual, No napkins & no plastic ware. They didn't even thank us for our business, wish us well & ask us to return to their establishments like they normally would.
