Elias Taqueria Mex — Restaurant in Montgomery Village

I always drive past Goshen when on my way to work and there has always been a spot on my left side that always catches my eye as I drive past. I recently got the opportunity to stop by as I got off work one day, and was eager to try their tacos! I got the birria, pollo, and al pastor tacos. The birria came with some dipping sauce, but felt plain in taste. The pollo (chicken) tasted basic as well, like the chicken you get from Sam’s club or Costco. Needed flavor. And the al pastor was ok. It was the one with the most flavor. I’m not going the lie! The spot is nice, and the seating was a wonderful idea. But other than that, the tase was a huge letdown. Specially for the price they are doing. I might try again after some time to see if these reviews help them to add flavor to their food, but not anytime soon. I’m better off with the Taco Bell tacos for now, and that’s saying something since they aren’t even Mexican tacos. Please fix the flavor soon Elias. As of yesterday! I've driven past this spot dozens of times since they set up. I finally tried it after reading the reviews. I did not go expecting to find "authentic" Mexican food or the best tacos in the area. I went because many reviews said it was good. For the negative reviews, I agree it is on the pricey side. I would go back for a gordita but not a taco. But to the review...Great food truck setup in the community off Stewartown Road with ample parking. Nice, clean area to sit and eat and it even has an outdoor sink connected. The cook is very nice and the food is pretty good. I liked the chorizo gordita and the steak taco was good. The hot sauce was delicious but it was interesting as it turned solid when it became cold. The idea is great! The location is good as well! But… not when it comes to taste. I understand that it’s gluten free, and I approve! But it says gluten free, not taste free. I has their tacos and also the Tortas and they had no flavor. Reminded me of my Ex’s cooking when she got mad. It has a nice presentation, but the taste is not there. I’m from Mexico, and I know Tacos. These Tacos are lacking taste. I personally have tried this place 2 times, and never again. It has disappointed me in taste. Not only that, but also are very expensive!! $12 for 3 Tacos!? And without flavor!? No thank you. I think I’ll stick to IXTA (Iztapalapa)...
