Hunan Express — Restaurant in Montgomery Village

Food is very good, albeit chock full of celery and carrots. Pictured is the portion after I took out the root veggies. This was $10 and came with an eggroll, but they provided no napkins or utensils.

Now lets discuss the service. I went in, ordered, paid cash, waited in my car. When I walked back over to pick up my food (I could see it sitting on the counter), there was another customer 3-4 feet inside the doorway. Due to COVID, they have it set up where only one person can walk into the business at a time and stand in this man-made alcove. While they stand another 10-feet away behind their counter.

So I opened the door, stood outside on the sidewalk, behind the open door, while wearing my mask. I hoped they would see me and just hand me my order. Nope, the owner began yelling and gesturing for me to close the door; rude.

Now I wanted for several minutes as they helped the customer inside the store, ignoring me and my order that sat on the counter getting cold. This customer was having a difficult time communicating, nor did he understand the items on the menu, and I guess he was placing a pretty large order.

Between the other customer being inside the store more than 3-feet, and me being outside the store more than 3-feet, social distancing was not an issue.

When the other customer finally left, the lady who took my order asked me how she could help me. Um, hand me my order? It took longer for them to give me my food than for them to even make it.

They were just nasty about helping me when I returned to pick up my food. Not friendly, or grateful for my...

I would NOT recommend this place to anyone, specially someone who wants to try Chinese food for the first time. My first walk into this place was bad; I walked in with a smile thinking they’ll greet me with a smile as well but I got totally the opposite which I ignored it because I just thought the owners were having a bad day. Quick food? Yes, but very expensive for Chinese food. My boyfriend and I didn’t like the taste at all and it did give us an upset stomach afterwards. I felt obligated to eat the food to make my money’s worth you know. Now I went for the second time and same thing. They don’t care if you’re a new customer or old customer! They don’t care who walks into their restaurant or what experience they want the customer to have. On top of that the place looks dirty... honestly I forgot how bad the food is in this place that I went for the second time..WILL NOT EVER be ordering food from this restaurant again and I would not recommend it to anyone. Horrible service, rude and careless owners. This place...

I ordered shrimp Lo mein because I don't eat chicken so when I get there the woman handed me chicken Lo mein. I explains that I ordered shrimp Lo mein because I don't eat chicken. She gave the order back to the kitchen and asked the worker for a shrimp Lo mein. What I saw was so disgusting !!! The worker got a handful of Lo mein with his hands, no gloves and put it in a bowl and I was done...the worker said for some reason the credit card machine is not working so asked if I have cash? I told her I'll go check and left...after 20 minutes she called me and said that the machine is working if I wanna come back..At that point I told her what I saw and her answer was " OH OK" and hung up ...So disgusting...never again and I will tell everybody and post it on Facebook and all over the internet what happen and how the worker didn't use gloves or fork to get the Lo mein and second when I told the cashier why I'm not coming back she didn't even care and she said " oh ok " and hung up...I was there 02/23/2017...
