Double Down Bistro — Restaurant in Montgomery

It's 6:15 on a Tuesday I figured ill try to check out a new black business in the city. I pulled up parking lot does look at little sketchy but that's Montgomery. As im entering, one of the employees was standing outside at the door smoking. I literally had to walk through her smoke cloud to get inside. I get inside the DJ is a old skool guy but he running hits. (Decent atmosphere). I go to the bathroom to wash my hands, its clean and gets the job done. I go to the bar and order something simple a long island and some fried green tomatoes. The bar tender was cool, she checked on me about every 10 mins. The drink was good the tomatoes were bad. The batter was good but the inside had a baby food texture. I took a bite of two of them to give it a good shot. I ordered another top shelf long island and a 6 piece wing extra crispy with fried okra. I guess the employees had their family inside but there were multiple women in street clothes walking back and forth from outside to behind the bar and the kitchen. Wings and okra definitely redeemed this place because I was ready to take the bartender and DJ with me and throw the rest away. The wings and okra was both extremely good $11 for a 6pc is a bit expensive but I enjoyed the experience. My ticket was $42 for 2 drinks, 6 wings, fried okra and fried green tomatoes. The Atmosphere Was Electrifying And The Food Was Cooked Fresh And The Service Was Outstanding. Bunny, Our Bartender, Took Our Orders And Made Our Drinks And They Were Top Tier. The Establishment Was Very Organized And Very Clean And They Had Entertainment For All Class Of People. Our Nieces Had Their Birthday Celebration At This Location And They Really Enjoyed Themselves With Their Birthday Crowd. Thanks Go Out To The Owners As Well, Corey And Porsha For Their Professionalism And Their Outstanding Group Of People That Works With Them, Cause They All Are Fantastic. The 2 Girls That Helped Our Enormous Group Out And Did Such An Awesome Job Were Faith And LaLa, These 2 Were On It, They Got Those Orders In And Didn't Skip A Beat On Anybody, And They Had A Beautiful Smile On Their Faces At All Times While Taking Such Huge Orders And They Didn't Get Any Of Them Wrong. Me And My Wife, Heather, Was Very Pleased With Everything, And Our Niece, Porsha And Corey, Were Very Happy That Their Girls Heaven And Ja'Daija Loved Every Outstanding Moment. If you're looking for a restaurant that has an amazing soul food taste and even more amazing customer service Double Down Bistro should be your go to. As soon as we walked in we were greeted with a real welcoming smile who introduced herself right away. It honestly shocked me at first, I have never had a greeting so welcoming like that in any restaurant EVER!!!!!! We were quickly sat and had our drinks. Fried chicken (OH MY GOSH) I wanted more or it. The macaroni was cheesy just the way I liked it, and the lima beans had so much flavor. The cornbread has some kind of secret ingredient, maybe cake mix, but definitely sweet and moist. Everything we tried was delicious 😋 THE CUSTOMER SERVICE THOUGH!!!!! From the host, to the bartender, to the kitchen staff absolutely amazing. Not your typical service in Montgomery. We sat at the bar, and when I tell you any staff member that walked by smiled, asked how everything was, and was just so friendly. When anyone would get up from the table to leave you could hear the staff telling everyone "hoped you enjoyed it, come back to see us". By far the best customer service from all staff positions I have ever experienced....
