La Coronilla — Restaurant in Montgomery

They charge extra for homemade tortillas then don't give them to you. And it's not a small charge either.The servers are not familiar with the menu. You order something and they say they have never had that and you know you have ordered it there before and IT IS ON THE CURRENT MENU. This used to be the best mexican restaurant in Montgomery. Since the original owner died and the sister took over, it's just not as good. The food is still okay but also not the same quality. The workers are rude, always in a bad mood, and basically only let you order what they feel like preparing or give you whatever they want. The last time we went, my husband ordered chorizo tacos and they brought him egg tacos. He never said a word about eggs. And the language barrier is not a problem, because my husband is mexican. We have been going to this place for years, but had backed off because of the customer service and rudeness from the servers. They know exactly what he is ordering. We have heard other people say some of the same things have happened to them at this establishment in the recent past. It's such a shame. The previous owner always made sure customer satisfaction and delicious authentic food were at the top of his priority list, but now those things seem to be at the very bottom...

This was my first experience here and my husband and I were not disappointed at all!! The food was fresh, authentic, delicious and AMAZING. The owner was there when we were dining and he politely came to our table and asked if we were ok. When we informed him that this was our first time in his establishment he was more than gracious as a host and he brought us his special Pico de Gallo. I almost cried it was that good! The salsa was not made from canned tomatoes (they were fresh) and it was wonderful to experience SERIOUSLY good authentic Mexican food for a change. My husband and I already have plans for a second trip back this weekend and I will be ordering a plate for there and a plate to take home!! 5 stars..excellent...

Food was very good I cleared my plate! We had the burrito with rice and beans and fajita nachos. It something we could have made at home but still very good. The salsa was too spicy for me and they were so nice to suggest and bring me salsa Verde instead. The salsa cleared my boyfriends sinuses lol. We tried the Magaritas and those were also good. I got a small and wished I had gotten a large they were so good. There is huge AC that blows really hard so if you don't like being cold like me don't sit in the middle of the restaurant as it blows full force right on you. Customer service was great.
