This place is not concerned with food allergies sadly. I like the vermicelli dish. This IS one of the only places in Montgomery that grills pork like they are supposed to. In the past, I've dined in. You got to be careful and don't order drinks because sodas have fluctuating prices. They're nice, but they know people won't challenge on the ticket. So they charge some prices different than what is posted. :(
After I developed my food allergy I figured I'd eat at home with a to-go order based on previous experience. Ordering with an online platform should be simple as it is Clover. So I made my order with visible modification I verified NO SHRIMP. I even wrote ALLERGIC REACTION NO SHRIMP. This was a food modifications and I was looking forward to the grilled pork. After driving home. No pork. A double order of shrimp. :( Maybe it was my fault for making an order and modifying it.
So today I ordered again, and this time I opted to order with the pork only (had egg rolls at home so I could add them). Paid my fee, and I even tipped on the take out order. Sadly when I got home once again shrimp.
So. The food is good here. Obviously I enjoy it enough to be forgiving. I don't want to argue with what I'm ordering and paying for so they do offer online order. But IF you have a food allergy I recommend having your Benadryl or epipen nearby. Do not expect them to honor modifications or special orders. You'll get what they feel like serving.
It will taste good, and be fresh. But please just have your meds ready and just don't make plans for the rest of the day other than to spend the rest of the day resting in bed if you decide to eat what...
Read moreWe went to a pho restaurant and neither of us got pho. We were craving Vietnamese food near our hotel and really didn't expect too much of the other dishes.
We shared the grilled pork spring rolls and it was good. A tad too much vermicelli, which takes away from the marinated grilled meat. The dipping sauce was more hoisen than peanut, he likes it that way, I prefer more peanut taste. But overall, it was fine.
He ordered the C1 rice plate with a little bit of everything and added shrimp (4 for $2.75). It was a good amount of food, all the protein were well marinated and grilled to perfection. The fish sauce wasn't watered down, thank goodness! And the pickled veggies added a nice texture to the dish.
I got the beef stew hu tieu bo kho. The stew needed to be a tad thicker, carrots didn't taste like it has been stewing in it for hours, it wasn't soft. They didn't give enough stew and my noodles were soaking it all up. When I requested for more, they said it's measured out, so they cannot make more. This got me to believe that it's possible they measure and freeze each bowl. When an order is made they heat it back up. Anyway overall taste was 7/10. I still enjoyed it.
Good service, clean restaurant, large dining area, would be ideal...
Read moreMy husband and I were there this afternoon for the lunch. After eating, we ordered more food to go for our family. They gave us 2 candies. After that, we paid and tip them. My husband tried one and he said the candy is good so I told him get some candy for the food that I ordered. So we got 5 of those candies included the ones they gave to us. Then there were 3 of severs came and acted like we stole those candies (1 of them is the owner, I think). They said if we wanted, we had to buy them. They said the candies just for only customers??? So what about us??? And my husband put the candies back. If they don’t want people take the candies, they shouldn’t put it outside. Those candies aren’t worth selling. I work at a nail salon. We put candies out everyday for customers. Customers take candies and go but we never mind about that. We never sell or cheap to customers just for only few candies. I wanted to say something to them but my husband didn’t let me. We was there few times, they always gave us candies after a meal but we never take the candies except this time cause we ordered food to go. It was awful!!! Ps: sorry for my...
