My husband and I went to this location on a Friday evening around 8 PM. It wasn't extremely busy. There were a lot of open tables. It took awhile to place our drink order, but we finally got it placed and received our drinks after 15-20 minutes. We placed our order for our appetizer and meals right away. We received our appetizer 15 minutes after ordering. The jacked mac bites were delicious. However, we proceeded to sit at our table for another hour before the waitress finally approached us and told us they never submitted our ticket. I'm not sure how that happened since we ordered our appetizer and entrees at the same time. They did offer to put it in for us, but at that point we had already spent over 1 and 45 minutes of our evening there. We weren't prepared to spend another 40 minutes waiting for food. We weren't charged for our mac bites, one beer, or lemonade. This was our first impression of the Blind Pig, and it was extremely disappointing. We were looking forward to a great dinner, but instead we...
Read moreUpdate: We've been back to this Blind Pig location 3 times since my first review and it has been nothing like that first experience since. I believe the first visit experience was just due to adjusting as they had recently opened.
All the food is fantastic, service is fast, and the people are wonderfully pleasant. The burgers, pork tenderloin, and fries are all highly recommended.
--- old review Heard that there was a Blind Pig location in Monticello and went to try it out - for reference we've eaten at the Blind Pig in Cedar Rapids multiple times and love the food and the service there. We came on a busy night and it was apparent that this was overwhelming the staff. It took 30-40 minutes to get our burgers (I can understand the wait with it being a busy night), but when we received them, mine didn't have any of the toppings it should have, and it was burnt to death. I hope that this was just a fluke as I know that the Blind Pig can serve...
Read moreI stopped here while I was in the area and was pleasantly surprised. I've been to the Blind Pig in CR many times and have always enjoyed their food but on & off there was service weirdness due to management changes. I didn't get a sense of anything like that at this location. The employees seemed to work cohesively and to truly enjoy their jobs. Because of this the food was the same delicious caliber but thankfully the service was excellent as well. There was plenty of seating between the 2 stories and it was nicely decorated in a new hometown bar & pig theme that is more casual than when it was the Jitney. I ordered a Chicken Sandwich that I ate before I got any pictures it was so good and a Moscow Mule that had a nice kick. Definitely recommend and...
