Wild Horse Wine and Whiskey — Restaurant in Montrose

I was driving my semi truck through Montrose Colorado, when my radiator sprung a leak and I was detained here for several days. While exploring the town I happened to get lucky and come across Wild Horse Wine and Whiskey on a day when they were open. The only thing wrong with this place is that it is not open 24 hours a day and seven days a week. They have a HUGE selection of American Whiskeys. The owners, Scott and Lisa, are the ones who will probably be serving you and they have traveled all over and know all about whiskey. You will have lots to talk about if you sit at the bar and if you choose not to sit at the bar there is plenty of room, a fireplace, a working antique piano, a second floor, and Wild Horse Wine and Whiskey looks like a great place to have an event if you are looking for a place to have a big party. I was a guest in Montrose to provide disaster training for Animal, Agriculture and Food Related Disasters…Scott was an active participant, eager to support his community and the county…I stopped in to visit and see this beautiful establishment. The hospitality was pure joy with introductions, fabulous Old Fashions, card playing, laughter and stories. Wonderful friendships were made and further support for their neighboring Speak Easy, Phelanies, ended with hugs, warm hearts and a Montrose Visit that will be cherished. I’ll be back soon. Scott closed the bar and let us use his place for the rehearsal dinner for our son’s wedding. It couldn’t have been a more perfect place. The atmosphere and decor are warm and inviting, and he and Julie make a perfect team! They went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed, which was especially appreciated because I had to plan everything from out of state.
