A friend of mine fell in love with one of the mountain rings. The picture she showed me, stated the ring was $245, when I went to order the ring for her suddenly the price was going to be $475. The ring I attempted to order was the exact ring that the picture showed stating the ring was $245. My friend sent the company an email asking why the ad was so confusing and the ring wasn't the price stated. They called HER and said they would honor the price so I paid for the ring along with some bogus extra fees, the ring was $285. Great right! So we thought. The ring they sent wasn't even close to the ring in the picture. The stone was not aquamarine as the ad stated instead it was some cheap piece of glass. And the rest of the ring was obviously poorly worked. When my friend called them voicing her displeasure of what they had sent her. They told her it is what it is and to get the correct stone and the mountains fixed on the ring she received would cost more money AND the couldn't guarantee the ring in time for her ceremony. VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND OUT AND OUT LIES. When they respond to this review, I'm absolutely positive they will attempt to make it our fault. Trust me, they false advertise and are less than experts when handcrafting gold and silver. I definitely don't recommend this...
Read moreMy fiance and I picked out an engagement ring to reflect our love of the San Juan mountains and who better to have it designed by than Ouray Silversmiths? Unfortunately, after only a couple of weeks of wearing it the layers of 14k gold started separating and falling apart. Ouray Silversmiths asked us to send the ring back and took full responsibility for the failures of the ring but refuse to give us a refund. They now have the flawed ring and over $1500 from us while they hide behind the excuse of "no refunds for custom work" - even if the work results in a ring that isn't fit for purpose and left lacerations on my fiance's finger.
Update - the jewelers "reasonable measures" at resolving this were to 'fix' the ring after we'd asked for a refund and then try and bully us into taking it back, which given the pictures they shared (see below) to prove that it was fixed, they didn't even do correctly - not really reasonable for a engagement ring that should last a lifetime and didn't even make it a month.
Nearly a year later and still no resolution - there are great jewelers in Colorado and Montrose - we would recommend Goldworks in Fort Collins, they have been a dream to work with. Its a shame that jewelers like Josh Kline and Ouray Silversmiths choose to treat...
Read moreWhere to start!! I ordered a ring that was advertised on the website for $245.00 . When you go to checkout it was over $200.00 more. I called you guys and you said sorry but your website was wrong I screen shot the post and even emailed you the confusion. Than hours later you call me back and said you would honor the price. You also said you would but in a beautiful blue aquamarine stone . I received my ring on the 10th . In a bandana. Yes a bandana lol . I called to see what could be done and was told I could send it back and not sure if it would be ready in time I need it and it would cost more money. You knew how important this was to me! I have stage 3 stomach cancer and having my ceremony on the 27th. But after you got your $ you didnt care. I took it it a high end jewelry business I was told it was very low quality of a piece of glass...I had them replace the cheap stone and replace it with a real one and finish the mountains on it that was poorly done . I have before and after pictures plus the screen shots Poor poor business . And blame your customers is no not cool. Your replays to reviews if not a 5 * rating is very unprofessional. And yes I had to pay for the repairs...
