Milo's Hamburgers — Restaurant in Moody

This is a hard review to write as Milos has been one of my favorite burger joints for almost 40 years now, but after yet another lousy experience, I can honestly say I won't be back. The original owner sold the restaurant side of the business in 2002 in order to take the famous Milos Tea Brand nationwide (a gallon of which currently resides in my fridge) and the restaurant has been on a downhill slope ever since. Over the past few years it has become really bad (especially at this particular location in Moody, AL). They have increased their prices at a far higher rate than inflation would justify (also known as Greedflation) and what is worse is the nickel and dime mentality of the new owner. They have instituted a policy of "Shrinkflation" (a form of fraud) whereby they give you smaller portions but charge higher prices. A great example is their Mega Meal. The Mega Fry they give you today is actually the same size as the medium fry used to be (while the true price for the Mega Meal is more than double what it was prior to 2020). They no longer honor the "Little Something Extra" (a little extra beef on the burgers) that the original owner had always included and the worst offense is the way they count every single drop of the Milos Sauce. The Milos Sauce is the only reason other than the tea that people patronize this chain and the store now makes it policy to give out only two, 1 ounce cups that are only half full which means you basically get 1 ounce of sauce per meal. If you want more, you have to pay for it separately. Add to that the fact that the customer service (again, especially bad at this particular location) is consistently bad with staff that are outright hostile and rude on many occasions, and it is simply not worth it anymore. The neighborhood I work in has quite a few fastfood restaurants. Major chains. But they're all sketchy and inconsistent. And there's a Milo's. Every meal I've gotten from Milo's has been exactly how I expected it and that's a testament to training, management and dedication at all levels. I'm not a true Milo's afficienado because they're a little expensive. But occasionally I'm not looking to gamble with some drive thru chaos disaster and I just want to get a good meal. And I go to Milo's. And I'm always glad I did. Their fries are always great. They're crinkle cut fries and always tasting fresh. And always properly salted , something Arby's refuses to do. And I gotta mention the Milo's sauce. You either love it or you hate it. Most folks love it. It's great on burgers,. chicken, fries and probably anything. Oh, it's also the really fine orange popcorn salt , which is always a true baller burger joint move. Salt = flavor. I really wish they'd offer their combos without a drink and make it reasonably priced. I'm usually drinking water. I'd eat there every day if could get a cheeseburger or chicken and fries for like $6 or $7. I don't want a drink and a cheeseburger and fries and a drink shouldn't cost $11 anyhow. Geez,...

I only gave 2 stars bc at least the food is mostly hot when I go here. It always takes AT LEAST 20-25 minutes to get my food. The past 3 times I've went it's been a nightmare. I went today only bc I love their double- o sauce. I always order extra (and pay for extra) to keep and eat later. Today I order and pay for 5 extra sauces. 20 minutes later I get my food and no sauce is in the bag. (Drive thru btw). I wait for the girl to come to the window and say I didn't get my sauce. She says oh we are out...and just stares at me. I said well I paid for 5 sauces (like did you just think you weren't going to tell me you're out and ask if I want any other sauces?!) And she said well we have other sauce and handed me 3 milos sauces. At this point I'm irritated and just drive off. Why is it always something here? I love milos food but it's too much to deal with to eat here. Oh and btw I ordered a cheeseburger and got a hamburger so there's that...
