It was my first time at a Cracker Barrel location, and this was the best experience ever. I wasn't sure what to order, but the lady who helped me with my to-go order was super helpful. The ambiance when walking in was inviting and casual. It gave you a homey vibe.
We ordered:
Grandpa's country fried steak breakfast - I loved that there was a choice between country fried steak and country fried chicken. This used to confuse me at some places when ordering. Some places have one or the other, not both. The country fried steak was crispy and meaty. I loved that they put the gravy separately. Nobody wants a soggy country fried steak. I had it with the grits. I've never really had grits and wanted to know what it was all about. It was yummy and creamy.
Sunrise special - Gravy and biscuits with sausage. This is a nice way to warm up your tummy on a cold morning. Something about it is so comforting.
Barrel Bite Duo- Biscuit beignets and loaded hash brown casserole tots
I think these two together was a meal on its own. Biscuit beignets were crispy on the outside and fluffy/doughy in the middle. The hash brown casserole tots, and you can't stop eating once you start.
While I was waiting for my to go order, I was definitely busy walking around looking at all the goodies that they had in their store. They had so many old-school candies, chocolates, games, and so much more. It was hard not to buy one of everything. They had a variety to appeal to anyone and everyone.
The two ladies at the register were super nice and friendly. I was talking to them for a bit, and I felt like I've known them forever. One lady was showing us her outfit that she wore at her daughter's graduation. The people there were super nice and welcoming. I honestly can't wait to come back. The hospitality and food were amazing....
Read moreHad ordered online. And at 9:30pm. So I'm giving a benefit of doubt here. I ordered the new fried chicken!! With Mac & cheese, Cole Cole slaw. All was room temperature. And a bunch of chicken! I mean so much I had it for 2 dinners and a lunch! Mac and cheese was good! Couldn't help but think it was the bottom of the container though! Cole slaw at room temperature scared me, I didn't eat it! All said it was good chicken, for 16..00 bucks! Better than seeing the girl at KFC wipe her nose, then grab my biscuit with the same hand to put it in my no no don't go box!!
Ok so A couple weeks later, ordered online!! All good, paid for meal on phone when I ordered. Standing there waiting and waiting and waiting!!! 45 mins later I asked for it again I think that was the 6 the time I asked. Wow wow 45ins standing there!!!

The quality of the food was some of the worst we have ever experienced. Toast was so dry when breaking it made dust as if it had been in the sun for a few days. The yolk of the eggs was OK. But how did the white part get to be like rubber. Heat Lamps? The bacon was not fully cooked and was full of grease and had a very bad taste. The grits were cold as was the biscuits. The whole meal for two had a terrible smell and must have been from the fake smoke flavoring.
We left most of the meal without complaining and should have made a formal complaint to someone that might care.. Breakfast for two was about $23.00, not including a tip which was left, and wish we had complained about the poor quality.
To make matters worse, when paying the women at the checkout never looked at me and only held out her hand to take my check as she was talking to another employee.. Then, rather than ask, "told" me to sign the receipt and was quite rude and insulting in the process.
We will never go back to any Cracker Barrel and understand why there were so few people at this location. We will choose to eat at a fast food restaurants instead when we...
