where do I start .. I was in search of a place to do my sisters bridal shower it was a Tuesday sometime in July & I was actually on my way to put a deposit down somewhere else & I happen to stumble upon La Havana 59 where on the sign outside it says "Banquet Hall" . walked in got a nice vibe noticed they were having a salsa class going on in a private room ..spoke to the manager named Leo explained to him exactly what I wanted . I have a lot of family & they do not like nosey people coming in & out looking at what we are doing & loud noise because they are old school Italians I just didn't want any problems . as we tried all the food I specifically asked Leo if when I have my party the room will be private just like the salsa class .. with the other section blocked off and everything he assured me yes because the day was available & told me Sunday's are never that busy so it's definitely not a problem .. so at the end of August I tell my fiancé let's go back to the restaurant talk to Leo have dinner & go over everything again just to check up on everything everything went smooth picked up some business cards to place in each invitation . the day of the bridal shower arrives .. we get there & my bridesmaid is told by the waitors that they don't do private parties and they haven't closed down that section in 4 years but yet we saw it closed for the salsa lesson the waitor calls Leo the manager on the phone & Leo tells them not to move any tables until he gets there in a half hour then he gets on the phone with my fiancé and tells him we can move the tables & then gets on the phone with the waitor saying to wait for him again .. so we nervously wait until 12. so Leo comes & he says he never told us it would be a private event now what I wanna know is why would we make this up when we could have chose any other place that would make it a private event the reason I chose this restaurant was because of the food .. not because of the prices I was willing to pay whatever just to get him off my back . then he finally closed everything & made it private .. it is now almost 1pm & we are seriously behind because we got slowed down by all of this craziness now that everything seems to be okay again comes "Lying Leo".. he tells me I have to be out at 430pm because he has reservations at 430pm .. when I clearly booked the space with 100 dollar deposit until 5pm ... he then says never mind & walks away .. at this time my sister has arrived & sees Leo checking his watch every 5 mins .my whole family can now see how disrespectful he is treating us... the waitors even told us that Leo is always telling them one thing & the customers another ..not once did Leo come in and introduce himself to my sister or any family and tell them if we need anything to just ask for him ... he has very poor management skills .. (I have worked in banquet hall places before & this person has no skills at all) he tried to ruin this event . I do not wish this pain they have caused me & my family on anyone .. this was a special event for my family. my sister & I lost both of our parents & we did not need this horrible negativity at all . this was definitely a learning experience for me to get everything in writing .I know he definitely over booked the place and wanted to squeeze us all in one room it's impossible with the amount of people and decorations & tables we had set up with desserts a paper flower wall and games . this staff is very inexperienced and definitely false advertises.. I forgot to mention the previous Sunday before we came & the hostess was sleeping on the chair .. Leo is rude a liar & disrespectful .. learn to not false advertise & please take private parties off your website & off the sign outside .. even though you tried to ruin our day my sister was still smiling but I hope people read this & feel how hurt I felt to see this man try to destroy something so beautiful with his disgusting lies , greed, &...
Read moreWe had dinner for 8 including our children, been to this place many times in the past, usually we go there to have a good time with the live band and to enjoy some drinks... it's a great place for that... but tonight we decided to get there early and have a sit-down dinner... I honestly don't ever write reviews, but our experience tonight was horrible... our waitress was extremely rude, never once came to check on us for over an hour after we received our dinner... The salmon with shrimp lacked seasoning and we were over charged for an additional side that supposedly came with the dinner... I can continue with other issues ... such as them choosing to add their own 20% gratuity, we asked to speak to the manager, and he was not accommodating at all. and extremely rude He spends his time walking around the restaurant angry, upset and stressed. We were rushed out of the restaurant before finishing our drinks.......... as a matter a fact my wife didn't even finish her drink before the waiter tried to take away her drink away and the waiter tried to take away my dinner in the middle of me still eating, our bill was well over $200 in which it shows we were not there to hang out but to enjoy a nice night out with the family and have a good time. I believe no restaurant should rush a family out of their restaurant with kids if they are continuously ordering food, drinks, desserts, etc........ Sad to say we will never come back here as all the workers there are overworked and stressed. Please be aware of the short rude pudgy manager, he needs to be trained and take a class of customer service hospitality in order to avoid such horrible experiences and reviews. Just keep in mind without customers spending their hard earn money your establishment would not be in business. If these dis services continue with other families, you will be out of business in sooner than later! Hope this review helps..... It's sad because our children had such a good...
Read moreI was extremely excited to celebrate my birthday La Havana 59 last night, December 2nd 2017. Prior to arriving I called to make a reservation, but it must be a party of 10 or more. This was not a big deal to us, so we still went. We were a party of 5 plus 1 highchair. When we arrived, the hostess greeted us and asked us how many. I told her a party of 5 plus a highchair. She immediately said "it'll be about an hour to an hour & 15 minute wait". Being that the entire restaurant at that time(6:45pm) was only occupied by approximately 8 tables, I asked if all of the remaining tables were reserved, the answer was: Yes. So we decided we would wait. We went over by the bar, and enjoyed the music. As time passed, we were then approached by the same hostess and asked "Are you guys planning on staying for the music, or just to eat? I have a table open but there is a reservation for that table at 9pm". When she came to offer the table it was 7:10pm. We didn't feel like being rushed, so we continued to wait. As time continued to pass, my husband kindly asked one of the employees a question regarding how their seating system worked since more than half of the restaurant was empty. I sure hope he was not the manager, because he was outrageously rude, unprofessional, disgusting with his response of "You just have to wait" From that moment, I realized that La Havana 59 has horrible customer service. If they are going to reserve more than half of the restaurant then make the ENTIRE place reservations only, it's common sense. We were finally seated by 8:15pm. The server that waited on us was not outgoing nor introduced herself. The ONLY TWO Pros: The live band and the food(hence the 1 star). This place has an extreme amount of potential, but their management and staff could use some professional and customer service etiquette classes. It was such an unfortunate experience. Good luck to anyone who attempts to enjoy a fun night WITHOUT a...
