Mi Ranchito Mexican Food — Restaurant in Moorestown Township

Flawless tasting authehentic cuisine. Discovered the restaurant through Google and was skeptical at first. However, the warm and humble waitress was attentive, as well as patient while I contemplated service. "This is a supermarket/ Bodega" was My initial thought based on appearance and having lived in New York. However, after a thorough explanation of the specialty and familiar dishes. I tried a few items. The shrimp tacos were freshly made with crisp ingredients. The shrimp was not overly done with subtle spices. The calamari was also not overly seasoned but flavors were pronounced like the onions and jalapeños it was prepared with. The Shrimp fajitas tasted like it was cooked at home being fresh , and shrimp cooked to perfection. The confined set up of this establishments dining area, gives way to more of a personal exotic experience vs a feeling of inadequacy. The Food was really authentic and reminded me of my visit to Mexico. The the ladies were very warm and hospitable and I look forward to my next dining experience...

Their esquites are the best I've ever tried. The tamal oaxaquena was equally amazing! Both were tangy and flavorful. The esquites came with a little container of Tajin seasoning, so you can choose your preferred spice level. The tamal oaxaquena was moderately spicy.

The horchata was rich and tasty.

I ordered the beef birria tacos, which were quite good. My fiancée tried caldo de mariscos for the first time - it was fresh, flavorful, and a generous portion size.

I am very disappointed. I normally don’t leave reviews especially bad ones, however $42 for 2 platters has me upset, if the food was better I wouldn’t be so upset. I’ve been to several different Mexican restaurants. This has to be the worst one I’ve ever been to. The woman was not very nice, we weren’t sure what we wanted and she seemed annoyed. I got the steak fajita platter as they didn’t or wouldn’t make me just a steak platter. Most of the steak was fat and gristle. I will Never go back to the restaurant, Ever! I took a picture of all the fat that was left which was most of the meat so I’m still hungry, oh and I Love avocado, Idk what they did to it but it did not taste like any avocado I’ve ever eaten.
