I was surprised to see a reuben on the menu, just recently added with some other new items apparently. I'm a reuben junkie so I had to try it. It seemed like about 90 seconds after my order was in, a reuben came out of the kitchen for me. I laughed at how fast it was and the waitress informed me it was basically a test reuben that was being prepared before I even put the order in. I feel like I may have gotten the first reuben served at Duane's. A reuben is a difficult sandwich to get even half ways right, or so it seems from experiences at many different places. This one though, I would order again. It maybe wasn't 100% traditional in its construction. Meaning it seemed like the thousand island was mixed with the sauerkraut, cheese was melted through almost as if it was also mixed... the whole thing could have been mixed actually? Meat, sauerkraut and cheese? Not entirely sure but the important thing is I liked it. The corned beef was easy eating, meaning each bite pulled out of the sandwich really nice. Sauerkraut was on point, wasn't rinsed out like many places do. The rye bread was nice and seemed properly butter toasted. It was a slightly wet sandwich which is how I like them actually. The type where you flip it over to eat it because the bottom toast is a little tender. Nothing came apart or anything like that, not soggy, just right. Nice job! I'll order it...
Read moreFirst let's start with the size of pizza. Small pizzas are typically 12 inches and larges are at least 16 - not 13 like at Duanes. This is the industry standard. If you don't want to go with the industry standard and then your pizza better be really really good for being smaller and costing at least 18 dollars per large (13") pie. Next let's talk about the ingredients. We ordered two large pies - one pepperoni and another half and half of cheese and sausage. I ate the pepperoni one. While I am all for thin crust - actually prefer it, this pizza is anorexic on ingredients. The sauce is nothing special and taste like something out of a can with additional spices added. Nothing that sets it apart. The cheese is nothing special either. THe only thing that I could say tasted different then other pizza places is the crust, which could be a little thicker - not much though. So for 38 dollar, no tip as it was take out, it barely fed 3 people - one of them being a young toddler. That's pretty sad when there's nothing special about it. Like I said if you want to charge a lot there better be something that can't be found anywhere near by, or you better give a lot of value for the cost. I bet the ingredients cost them about 2.75 per pie and they charge 18+ dollars for. Oh by the way if you want half and half pie -...
Read moreCustomer service! We've been coming here for over 20 years. Customer service has always kinda been lacking but after tonight we had to say something.
My spouse picked up the order. On the half cheese half pineapple pizza, literally after 2 pieces, my mom is gagging on it. She pulls out a long hair that seemed like it never ended and it was stuck in the pizza. She spits it all out and calls them. The guy put her on hold for a couple minutes and said they didn't believe her. My mom proceeds to tell them it was stuck in the pineapple and cheese and she wants one delivered. He tried to tell her there is no one working with hair like she described. My spouse called bs on that, that when he picked it up there was a lady that looked hindu working, with long dark hair. My mom argued with him and said she will bring it in. He agreed to make her another one only if she brought it in.
When she got there, there was no apology, no compensation and they acted like they were bothered by her, like they still didn't believe her. So we drove there twice, paid $20 for a pizza that had a hair in it, gave them literally 95% of the pizza back and they still treated my mom wrongly.
We're outraged at how the person in charged...
