This is a must stop in Moose Lake! Super warm and cute welcoming charm. Plenty of very comfortable seating. They offer various crafts, gifts, and goods for sale too. The things I was most excited about is that food items are made from scratch! Even the coffee beans are roasted there and ground fresh before brewing. Yes, you can buy coffee beans from them. They use real cream, butter and, for an upcharge, real pure maple syrup. They also boast homemade jam, fresh bakery goods, and Kemps ice cream. I've been here twice now. I didn't ask, but will next time, about what else can be ordered that's not on the menu. I inquired on oatmeal and they do have it, different types too, but I opted for the steel cut. If you order a bowl, you will not go away hungry! I got mine with sides of cream, brown sugar, and crazins. The only thing I can think of to suggest would be walnuts for some crunch. My 2nd visit I had the apple wild rice pancake and bacon. It was very good. Not as filling as oatmeal but pleasant. One more strip of bacon would be nicer. You are looking at around $15 to $20 for breakfast all said and done so it's not exactly cheap but I feel worth the quality as a treat but maybe not a multiple time a week visit, my personal opinion of course. Be aware, they do add on an "optional" 12% gratuity to be split between all staff. Who is going to ask it be taken off though? Kinda stinky in my book. Anything you tip beyond that goes to your server. (I just like to be in control of my tipping and not feel like it's a way for owners to skimp on wages and place that burden on their patrons. We also already get a mandatory charge when you use credit cards most places as well. Aren't these things cost to do business? I just don't like having to do math with all the add ons and upcharges to figure out what my bill will be. Rant over.) I'd like to try lunch sometime but I don't think my schedule will ever allow it unfortunately so maybe someone can update with that. All in all, best place for a relaxing sit down meal with pleasant/friendly/good service.

What an amazing afternoon meal at the Lazy Moose Grill. We were traveling through town, and the Lazy Moose Grill came highly recommended, so we stopped in this afternoon for a light meal. Everything was perfect, starting with the excellent service from our server, Dave. Dave was extremely attentive, making sure our every need was taken care of. His warm, friendly manner made this such a special occasion for us. I had the Southwest Sald consisting of MN greens, grilled chicken, black beans, corn, cheddar, guccamole, salsa, and a dolop of sour crem with a cranberry wild rice dinner roll. It was excellent. The cranberry wild rice dinner roll was so good that I asked Dave to bring me two more. My wife ordered the Lazy Grill Loaded Salad, which consisted of MN greens, grilled chicken, tomatoes, cucumbers, smoked bacon, curmbles, red onions with shredded cheese and garlic croutons. Her salad came with a cranberry roll wild rice roll as well. She LOVED her salad. We were pretty full after eating our salads, so we split our dessert of Butterscotch Pie. Heavenly it was. All the desserts and baked items are made from scratch. No pre-made pie crust here! Kuddos to all of the staff who made this a magical dining experience.

This is an outrageously good restaurant. It's a cute place with a gift shop and pastry case up front. The atmosphere might have you thinking you're in for some merely good food. It's not just good, it's fantastic. Real cooking happens in this place. Everything came out hot. The country fried steak was crisp and delicious, the hash brown scramble was tasty, everyone was a fan of the home made pickles. The service was friendly and quick, the atmosphere was fun, but the food is what sets this place apart. If I could give this place more stars I would, this is the sort of restaurant we should be doing our best to keep around! For folks coming in off the soo line trail. You can roll straight up to this place from the trail. There is a spur that ends right next to the parking lot. It was awesome to roll up to "breakfast all day" and a big mug of coffee after a long chilly morning ride.

When you walk in the yummy smells wash over you... That being said... When we walked in and waited to be seated we were ignored for almost 5 minutes then were told they would clean off a booth for us... Seeing that I am a bigger person that didnt sit well with me... We were offered a small or large booth not offered a table... It was very uncomfortable... The server rushed us to order... When I said we needed a few minutes to look at the menu because there were things on their site that weren't on the menu I was told that we were given the condensed version and she said I can get you the other one... My moms Reuben didnt have sauerkraut on it, my burger was was over done... And to be honest the beef tasted old... For $16 for the burger I kinda expected better... The fries were great for about 5 minutes then they turned into a greasy mess... All of the food was greasy... The server then tried to rush us thru our meal... When we went up to pay we were ignored again at the register... There were 3 girls standing there more concerned with talking to each other than customer service to us or the other customers standing there... I guess if you are not a regular customer you don't really matter... I DEFINITELY won't be going back or recommending it to anyone... Which is a shame because I really wanted to try a few of the other items on their menu... That was a mistake I will...
