Chapala Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Mora

Finally a small town restaurant that gets it right! Just because there's a lack of variety available doesn't mean the food can be sub par. Definitely NOT the case at Chapala. Let's start with the basics first though. The service was wonderful, very kind and attentive from start to finish. Great atmosphere, very cozy and clean. We visited late after a long day on the lake. so parking was not an issue at all. Now, the reason I wanted to make sure to leave a review: The food there is THE best, most authentic Mexican food we've had in ages. The menu has many options and combinations to choose from, as well as a la carte items. We both went with our favorites, enchiladas. The chicken used in the enchiladas was so moist, but not mushy nor dry like so many others you would find. The rice was perfect, flavorful and delicious. I couldn't say ENOUGH about Chapala's!! The food is top notch! The customer service is phenomenal! The general atmosphere of the building is absolutely the best I've encountered yet. They always have music going, there are always smiling faces, delicious drinks and even better food! You couldn't ask for a better place to go to eat!! If you can only stop on at one place in Mora I recommend stopping here. Take your time looking through the menu, and if you can look it up before hand because there are SO MANY options and EVERYTHING is so good I can't even say enough about it! I NEED to try everything at least once!! And the drinks!!! Oh my, I haven't had a better (or bigger) margarita ANYWHERE!!! My husband and I, on a whim, decided to go out for dinner, a rare treat for us. We haven't lived in Mora long, so we were just driving around checking out potential restaurants. Right on the highway this colorful building caught our eye. We didn't get an opportunity to celebrate Cinco de Mayo on the west side this year, so we decided that this local business was a perfect fit for that Cinco weekend, and we were right! It was outstanding AUTHENTIC Mexican. I haven't had Mexican food this good since 1997, no joke! Also, my husband might be one of the pickiest people on the planet and he also loved it!
