Giovanni's Pizza — Restaurant in Morehead

Even a one star is over rated for this place. I'd never eaten there. So I thought I'd give it a try since they were a hometown business. I'd eaten from other Giovanni's in the past but not this one. So I called in my order which was 2 deluxe pizzas and one one topping pizza.

The lady that took my order said that it would be more than $90 for three pizzas!!! Almost $100 for three pizzas?!?! Come on! I could go to any other pizza place in town and get the same three pizzas for half that price or less! I thought Pasquale's was expensive, but my gosh, they are even cheap compared to Giovanni's.

I could have even driven to Olive Hill to Tyler's Pizza and got the same exact pizzas for $49. I've done it more than once. And I guarantee they would have been much much better than what Giovanni's has.

Needless to say, I cancelled the order and I will not be ordering from Giovanni's again...

I generally call ahead even when dining in because it located across from the university and you never know how busy they will be. Generally you are put on hold as soon as they answer and sometimes you remain on hold a few minutes, but the experience from the time your orders is placed until you leave is exceptional. The staff is always friendly and helpful but no overly attentive where you begin to become annoyed. Food is always great! My mom had a to go order not long ago and she dropped the pizza as she walked out and it landed upside down. One of the employees rushed to help her. Once she the pizza and everything else had been picked up mom thanked the gentleman. He told her to check the pizza and if it was messed up he would put another in immediately because accidents happen. That’s service I have never witness anywhere else. One of the best restaurant atmospheres I've ever been around. Owners and team leaders actually care about their workers, and I know this first hand. As a fellow team member (as of posting this 10/07/2021) with minor mental disability that prevent me from being my best, they've still stood by my side keeping me motivated despite constant error and causing delayed orders. Give or take I understand fast food is a challenging job compared to many jobs in the area, but I've never worked a job where anyone actually cared for workers like this place. Food review? I think the food is great, hands down. If it ever came out delayed or separated it may have been my fault, but despite my mistakes they still worked with me instead of scolding me and made me feel human.
