The only reasons I am giving this place only 4 stars is a snafu with Open Table AND the door to the patio. We reserved for Thanksgiving Day 2019 meal and there was no indication that their usual menu would be scrapped and it would be a Prix Fixx meal with limited choices. The food was plentiful and delicious. Once our waitress Tracy, found out we were a bit disappointed in the limited menu and we had some special dietary concerns, she brought us the vegan version of the menu which resolved most of our concerns. She also allowed us to mix/match items from vegan menu and their regular meat Thanksgiving menu offerings. Another way that our waitress Tracy went above and beyond was to move us away from the first table near a VERY COLD BREEZY doorway, after we had been seated (but before we ordered drinks). That door... and the inconsiderate people who wanted to get a better look at the wildlife in the bay... froze the place out several times by standing in the doorway--HOLDING THE DOOR OPEN-- while their companion took a photos from the balcony. More than one group did this while we were dining; one notable woman actually held the door open for over 5 minutes!!! If I had been sitting in the aisle chair I would have let her know how unthankful I was for her low class actions. I wish the Host could get a grip on how disturbing this is to the ambiance of a otherwise really nice place. We certainly went outside to take photos because the view is awesome, but we made sure to close the barn door behind us and limit the amount of cold air gushing into the dining area. I'll end this rant by saying super kudo's to the cooks and kitchen staff-- your food was 5 stars and so was our...
Read moreWent here for happy hour. Had the flat bread. Coconut shrimp and ceviche. All was great. My Hendricks martini was not on the happy hour list but was worth it. Binoculars on each window overlooking the Bay offered excellent views of the B52 bombers flying just feet above my window seat(aka - turkey vultures) as well as a falcon and variety of other birds settling on tree branches that mark the beginning of the protected nesting area nearby. Lots of retirees . Music was interesting. Ebb and flow in the bay and in the crowd. Full by 4:15 -almost empty by 4:45,we left for a walk at 5. Noisy -yes ,somewhat but everyone was happy and the mood was relaxing. A beautiful way to spend an afternoon as tourist in our own town. As a hard core martini lover - there is no rush here for service -indeed that is the idea in such pleasent settings. The martini had a nice film of ice on top - I only wish it was poured to the top/edge and not so much space left empty. (Both times I ordered) Especially when it's top shelf gin. Thank you for the pleasure of enjoying such a great place. We look forward to happy hour in front of the large fireplace (hopefully while it is...
Read moreI came for the view, and that's where it stopped. I wanted seafood, but they were out of halibut, ceviche, and their other fish. The waiter offered to come back while I decided. I still hadn't decided when he returned. It took forever for him to come back the 3rd time. While waiting, they decided to prop the door open and froze everyone to death.
I finally decided to order the bowl of clam chowder and grilled cheese with fries. The grilled cheese arrived with the cheese already hardened and fries, not even lukewarm. Very dissapointing. Grilled cheese is comfort food. This was not comforting. The clam chowder was an odd color. Why they switched waiters on me, I don't know. Overall, this was disappointing.
Maybe come for the view and drinks at the bar. I'm not sure about the food...
