Rice is an add on. So if you order something to go make sure to ask for rice if you want it. And pay extra. How crazy is that? Lots of potential but inconsistent the many times I've been in since they reopened. All three of our visits were slow. One night I called in an order. Gave them an extra 10 minutes before coming in. Then waited 50 minutes. Total time from order to food! 1 hour and 25 minutes. They had three tables the entire time I was waiting and four other people waiting with me. Four people were working and three were in the kitchen. It was insane. They lied to people who came in and kept saying "oh sorry, almost ready!" I always double check the bill because the prices are very high for the small amount you get. Unfortunately half of the stuff we've ordered wasn't that great. The eggplant & garlic stir fry was inedible from the huge amount of MSG they laid on it. I'm actually cool with MSG on occasion and cook with it. But this was crazy. The female staff member was very polite and courteous no...
Read moreThe food at Hong Kong Chinese Restaurant has always been very fresh and hot. The visual appeal tells me how fresh everything is. The taste of freshness and wonderful flavors backs up the visual appeal. The Hot and Sour Soup is rich and full of fresh Shiitake mushrooms. The Pot Stickers are to die for in my book - full of savory meat, not doughy at all, but golden brown with a crispness along with the juiciness of each bite. The Won Ton Soup is so simply wonderful, that I must have it when I occasionally don't feel great - that chicken broth heals. The Kung Pao Chicken is crunchy, wonderfully flavorful, and of course, fresh! Can't wait to try...
