Poor drive thru experience.
I haven't visited a KFC in probably 8 or more years. I figured I'd go tonight and try it out since the building's new renovation is complete and I thought perhaps my experience would reflect a new and improved appearance. Unfortunately, I was wrong.
I drove through at about 8:30pm on a Sunday. No vehicles in line but definitely still during their drive-thru hours. I was greeted at the end of my ordering and pick-up experience with a semi-truck unloading freight. It blocked my ability to leave the premises without going back through the drive thru. Of course, several cars were lined up behind me so I physically could not leave for upwards of 10 minutes or more.
The employee unloading the freight approached me and tried to convince me that my BMW could fit through the small gap in front of his semi. I laughed and told him that wasn't going to possibly happen, especially without driving over the fairly high curb. I just paid $1,600 for two brand new sets of tires, so I'm not game for driving over steep curbs. He told me "I've seen pickup trucks fit through there." OK, great. If they did, they must've been RC cars because there was no chance in hell my car would've fit.
Even worse, I heard him telling the kitchen staff inside (door was wide open and my window was down) that I was being a stubborn driver and that all I had was "a little BMW". They were laughing at the situation, but I didn't find it so funny. I was told they "would be quick and he'd be leaving soon". I elected to turn around and drive back through the drive-thru the wrong direction in order to leave. I explained the situation and how it was a poor decision on management's part to arrange freight drop-off during business hours and have the semi's location disallow vehicles to leave the premises.
As my food now gets even colder, I'm now going to enjoy KFC for probably the last time. If you're going to operate a drive-thru, it's reasonable to assume that as a customer you're able to not only drive through and pick food up, but that you're able to leave the premises as well during business hours. I should've taken pictures. The entire situation was ridiculous. I told the window employee that this was an instance of poor customer service and that I wouldn't be back, regardless of who was at fault (employee, manager, corporate, etc.). The situation was not only embarrassing and irritating because the staff lacked empathy, but inconvenient for others behind me in the drive thru as they drove backwards to leave the premises too.
If KFC cares about its customers, they won't...
Read moreOrdered on door dash. I got the 5pc tender big box and a pot pie. I was pretty surprised with how small the portions where for the 5pc box since it's like $16. The mashed potatoes were in a container you might expect a side of salad dressing to be in. They might as well have just forgotten the mashed potatoes all together it was so small. The chicken tenders were like 2inches long and super skinny too. Safeways chicken tenders are like 3× bigger and in the pictures they have on door dash they look way bigger. The fries were smaller than the smallest size you can get at McDonald's and they gave me regular Pepsi instead of diet. The pot pie was decent but also really small for $8 and the crust was ...sweet? Such a rip off. And I feel like trash after eating it. I feel better after eating McDonald's and it's not even real meat. Anyways I was scammed out of $30. I could have bought clothes with that money. Why doesn't KFC slap like it did when I was 8 and wore knee...
