Have driven past this place many times but just recently stopped for lunch for the 1st time. Location, signage and parking is good, but maybe it was the time of day (noon-ish), the day of the week (Thur), or the season (early Spring), but I was not impressed. The place was empty with only 1 other couple coming in, looking around, then leaving. Was met by a young man that acted like he had better things to do and didn't want to talk more than to say they use paper plates. Ordered Kung PO chicken. It was overcooked, had way too many peanuts, and at least 1 bone shard. It was accompanied with "pork fried rice (NO substitutions) that was white rice with soy sauce and 3 tiny pieces of pork - also overdone. So, if this is the general offering, then I would suggest the old, grumpy, overworked cook just get it over with and retire already. The world is changing and there are a LOT of folks who will pay almost anything for fresh, truly traditional, Chinese cuisine cooked by chefs that love what they are doing. I would return to THAT place...
Read moreIf the blond server with the bad teeth is working, go eat elsewhere. We went to get some takeout and the place was pretty busy. She said we wont be able to get food for at least 2 hours. So we decided to order anyway and then she said someone else will take our order. But she was the only person working besides the cook. So while we waited for this imaginary person to take our order we saw her wipe down a dirty table with a rag that she threw on her shoulder. She grabbed a tray of food from the kitchen then leaned over and dropped the dirty rag into someone's fried rice. She picked up the rag, looked around to see if anyone was looking, then served the customer the rice. After another ten minutes we were able to get her attention again and ask who was taking out order. She said "me but you'll have to wait a while, in a rude and condescending voice. We had no choice but to go find food...
Read moreI don’t know who is making the Peking dumplings but they we the worst I’ve ever had. The meat filling was fine, but the dough on the outside was twice as thick as it should be making them really hard to chew, and they were flavorless to boot. It was like shoe leather. I ended up after eating two out of my eight cutting them open and taking the meat out and just eating the meat the dough part was inedible Something changed since last November, because we’ve been eating there for 10 or more years. When we came back for the summer, this is the first time we’ve eaten there. It’s a shame cause we like to eat local and eat from private restaurant owners not chains, but I’m sad to say we’re gonna have to go someplace else...
