This place is always great. Come on Monday nights and if you get a burrito you get to spin the wheel to win other stuff. All the meat or tofu options are delicious. I love the carnitas but the blackened fish is a close second. Clean place and restrooms, friendly staff. It's usually a quiet place except for the music. Sometimes it can be too loud if you're sensitive to noise like I am, but it's the music only. Got hooked on this chain when I used to work in Rockville, MD. Stood in line to win burritos for a year when this one opened. If you just get a burrito it's about $10 a person for a burrito the size of your head. You can add unlimited refil drink and tortilla chips and queso for $4. For how fresh and what you get it's totally worth it. Their tacos are huge and generously filled. In all my years here, never got a bad item. Highly recommend getting a Burrito Ellito card. You earn $5 back so quickly. Compared to other chain apps or loyalty cards this is the real. I've probably earned hundreds back. If you're feeding tiny humans they have kids sized food, and an awesome deal if you're feeding the whole family for about $50 that's 6 burritos, salad, tortilla chips, and all the dippy boys. This place beats Chipotle and Qdoba hands down. I loved it as a vegan, and now as an omnivore. You won't be disappointed. Did I mention the literal wall of...
Read moreMy first time eating there. Got a blackened fish taco. Absolutely delicious. No napkins no forks all of the sauce or sour cream was in one spot on the taco so when you bit into it all of that wound up on my shirt and they gave me a lime wedge which they chose to put inside the Taco under the fish so that was a very interesting experience to bite into the rind of a lime. The fish was delish but if this is the service and competence when there's not a customer in the store for a single fish taco I won't be back. The owner replied and I've lowered my rating from to start to one. I've left this review not to get a coupon or to make it right. To read this review and ask me to go to another website so you can harvest my email address and data and put a complaint in there when I've already written my review it's just customer blind as far as I'm concerned this is my review you've already had your chance I don't want a coupon I want to walk into an establishment and get good service the first time. I don't want a lime wedge in my taco under my fish ever. You can't go back in time and fix it so now you're just...
Read moreThis is a tough review to write. My family and I were fiercely loyal customers of the Mount Airy California Tortilla since the day it opened, easily getting takeout at least once a week for years. It was our go-to spot—reliable, delicious, and always satisfying.
The Change Sadly, since the ownership change, the quality just hasn't held up. We held out hope, but after several visits, we've had to admit the food isn't the same. The biggest issue we ran into, and the reason we've stopped going, is the increased saltiness of the food. It's like a heavy hand with the seasoning has replaced the balanced flavors we used to love. Our favorite dishes, from burritos to bowls, now have a dominant, almost overwhelming salty taste.
Overall Giving it 3 stars because the staff is generally friendly, but the quality of the actual food is a major disappointment, especially for long-time customers. It's truly a shame when a beloved local spot loses its flavor identity. We really hope they can adjust their recipes back to the way they were, but for now, we're looking for a new weekly...
