Hollywood Pizza — Restaurant in Mount Carmel

Went here based off a recommendation and was told this was among the best pizzas in the area and that they had tremendous cannolis. I was skeptical based on the name alone. The fact that it's in Mt Carmel certainly didn't help. Pretty much every restaurant with the word "Hollywood" in it that isn't actually located somewhere in or near Hollywood/LA is mediocre at best and this place is no different.

Walking in, the place looks like a dive - but not in a good dive kind of way...more like this is the place where dreams go to die kind of way.

Placed my order for 2 slices with sausage and pepperoni. The kid working the counter says they can't do sausage on slices because it's frozen. That should have been my cue to walk out, and if I wasn't hungry I would have. So I asked for mushrooms and pepperoni instead. I also grabbed a cannoli and had a seat. A few minutes later, my slices were brought to my table. Didn't realize going in that they make rectangle pizzas....not Sicilian pizza with a nice thick crust...just a rectangle pie with a normal crust. The slices were both small. Each of them had just 2 pieces of pepperoni and a few slices of mushrooms on top. Taste wise they were ok, but not the least bit filling.

Then I had my cannoli and it was hands down the single worst cannoli I have had in my life. It tasted like Anise, which is definitely supposed to be used in a cannoli, but this thing basically tasted like I was eating black liquorice. Just flat out awful.

There's nothing "Hollywood" about this place at all. Not in the location, the ambiance, the decor, and definitely not in the pizza. This could be the best pizza joint in Mt Carmel for all I know, which wouldn't be hard to believe, but it's definitely not worth going out of your way to stop here. In fact, you'd be better off going out of your way not...

They don’t have pizzas or hoagies until 1030 but they open up at 9 In Case if anyone’s wondering but they have pizza in their name. Asked for hoagies and said they don’t have the oven on so I can’t order those either. She was very rude and inconsiderate. She says I don’t know what to tell you. I already told you the ovens aren’t on, but we have bakery items though I said I would just like a pizza and she says well you’re not gonna be able to order any pizza around here because nowhere else is open. So if anyone wants pizza, I advise you not to go here because they have it in their name but they don’t sell pizza until 1030 and Vine Street sandwich shop made me a pizza and it’s not even in their name. I love them! Not ...

Hollywood Pizza and Bakery in mount carmel pa makes awesome homemade pizza and tons of homemade bake goods and others foods and there famous wedding soup as well too soupie pizza and hot cheese pizza too as it's very clean inside fast service and cheap foods and drinks a pa coal region landmark in central pa of northumberland county pa then this truly must try as the owners and staff are so so very friendly and will help you with all all your needs thank you kyle schu :-) Today's Special Homemade Cream Puffs From Ye Awesome Cooks And Bakers At Hollywood Pizza and Bakery In Mount Carmel PA 17851 And Know You Me And My Pap Mr. Dennis Scicchitano Had To Get Each 1 For Thy Both Of Us LOL !
