The Health Basket — Restaurant in Mount Dora

I was there on Wednesday this week along with 5 other cars in the parking lot. We realized they have gone back to opening at 10am. It was 9:30 and we all left. I do my errands early in the morning and was not going to wait for them to open. I like to support local businesses but these stores that don't open until 10 or 11am are doing this for their convenience and not mine. This is very true of many places in Mt. Dora. The shops in the downtown area don't open until 10 and are closed by 5pm. Well I found I was able to order all the products I needed from the Health Basket on line with free 1 and 2 day shipping at less cost. My son owns a small business and I know it can be hard to compete with the internet but to do so he gives great customer service. I took of 2 stars because I sent my husband to get some ginger shots for me and our family of 6 & I was on the phone with him while he was ordering from the Juice bar & I really don’t like the way the lady was talking to him to be honest, it seemed fine at first and then someone else came in and took over the conversation, he asked one question about adding pineapple because our daughter likes her wellness shots with pineapple juice as well, I feel like the response was a little bit rude and unnecessary to talk to him in that way, like if he has ever been here before? The Health Basket has grown with our community from a small storefront to a fine small market in its own building. Loaded with healthy foods, dietary supplements and other products for clean living, it's like having our own neighborhood mini Whole Foods. Bulk nuts and seeds, organic produce, gluten free options, healthy snacks and frozen prepared foods that are ethnic and organic may all be found here, even safe natural cosmetics and cleaning products.
