This is a large store. Prices are fairly reasonable though certainly not "low" in this store- probably due to the Mount Dora location. Still, cool bargains pop up from time to time. If you're looking for vintage, the selection can really vary- from "not much today" to "woohoo, bonanza!" Much of the store space is devoted to clothing; the furniture section is very small. Several aisles are devoted to toys, games and children's clothing. This store gets a lot if traffic, so don't expect items to stay on the shelf for long. Weeknights seem best for less crowded browsing. One complaint-unlike other Goodwills I've been in, household items are over packed, jumbled onto inadequate shelving and not all that well organized, while aisles are extremely narrow. Better use of the floor space would help with these issues.

My first time at this location. Reading all the reviews I can’t say I experienced exactly what others describe. My goal here wasn’t clothes but home items and trinkets. I found most of things on my list and happen to get some of them 50% based on the week’s tag. This store is also quite neat and has great selection of different items for home, clothes pieces, and trinkets. However, the shoes were a bit high priced for used condition, it’s easier to go and buy new ones in Burlington or Ross for prices they offer. Other than that location is decent.

No dressing rooms and prices are ridiculously outrageous!! You’re Goodwill… a second hand store… these are USED goods that you’re pricing as new. USED dresses for $90, $50, and $30! I don’t care what brand they are, they’re still used/worn clothes. It’s frustrating because this is where people go because they can’t afford prices like that. People, do everyone a favor before donating your clothes, remove any store tags and cut out the label because that’s what Goodwill is going by these days!

Goodwill - Mount Dora: A Rollercoaster of Prices and Hidden Gems The Goodwill in Mount Dora, located at 18573 US-441, offers the quintessential "Goodwill experience" – with all its exciting highs and sometimes baffling lows. It's a true treasure hunt for those who enjoy the thrill of the unexpected, but be prepared for a wide array of pricing that can leave you scratching your head. The Good (and the Bargains in the Rough): The Thrill of the Find: This Goodwill truly embodies the "treasure hunt" aspect of thrifting. You can absolutely stumble upon incredible bargains – quality clothing, unique home decor, or even vintage collectibles at prices that make your day. These are the moments that keep dedicated thrifters coming back. Decent Selection (Sometimes): Like most Goodwills, the inventory is constantly changing. On a good day, you'll find a surprisingly diverse range of items across all departments, from apparel to books to electronics. The donations tend to be plentiful. Supporting a Good Cause: It's always a positive to know that your purchases are contributing to Goodwill's mission of providing job training and employment services to individuals in need. The Not-So-Good (and the Head-Scratching Prices): Wildly Inconsistent Pricing: This is the most significant point of contention for many shoppers. You'll often find items that seem disproportionately expensive for their condition or brand, while a genuine "bargain" might be sitting right next to it, completely overlooked. It's not uncommon to see a worn-out, basic item priced higher than something practically new from a designer brand. This inconsistency can be frustrating for those looking for predictable value. "Does This Make Sense?" Moments: There are definitely times when you'll pick up an item and wonder about the logic behind its price tag. It can feel like some items are priced without much consideration for the resale market or their actual value, leading to some truly bizarre price discrepancies. Can Require Patience: Because of the inconsistent pricing and the sheer volume of items, a successful trip to this Goodwill often requires a good deal of patience and a willingness to thoroughly comb through the racks and shelves. It's not a "grab-and-go" kind of place if you're looking for true value. Overall: Goodwill in Mount Dora is a mixed bag, but one that's well worth exploring for the dedicated thrifter. If you approach it with an open mind, a keen eye for detail, and an understanding that not every item will be a steal, you'll likely walk away with some fantastic finds. Be prepared for the pricing rollercoaster – celebrate the amazing bargains, and try not to dwell too much on the items that seem to have taken a wrong turn on the pricing highway. It's a place where the effort of the hunt often pays off. Hours: Generally Monday-Saturday 9 AM - 9 PM, Sunday 10 AM - 8 PM (It's always a good idea to confirm directly with the store if you're making a special trip, as...

UPDATE: 4-5 stars down to 2 stars.

This used to be my favorite retail store to scour for treasures. Lately they have increased pricing, ridiculously on some items.

It's nearly impossible to find a decent deal there now, which is difficult as my family struggles on 1 income and we used to be able to purchase all back to school clothes here! They were charging $5 for a used 3 ring binder last I was there.

Bathrooms are usually clean.

There are NO fitting rooms!

No refunds. Only exchanges within 3 days with tags on items and receipt.

One evening my husband was purchasing me 2 handbags to cheer me up. The cashier insisted that the handbags were priced too low (6-12$) for the brand/value and called the manager who increased the price of each bag to well over $20 right in front of my husband. My husband couldn't afford the new pricing and left empty handed and angry.

After being a regular shopper here, I have noticed that it is nearly impossible to find any items that are the "color of the week" (price tags are different colors and each week they pick a color and if the tag is that color the item is 50% off). Paying close attention one Sunday night before closing...I noticed.. (sale colors are changed each Monday morning) ... employees going through each aisle pulling clothing items of a certain COLOR!! Monday's color!!

I honestly believe that this is a scam being committed at this location to reduce discounts and increase sales...since nothing is actually on sale ever!

THEY PAY $0 FOR THE ITEMS THEY SELL! ZERO $$!! Free inventory!!! And they still scam people who shop there, the people that can't afford much

You'd think as a "charity" they WOULD USE ALL OF THAT GROSS NET INCOME TO HELP THEIR DISABLED EMPLOYEES or the community... NOPE! I was informed by a prior employee that... Goodwill pays employees LESS THAN MINIMUM WAGE!!! A SNAFU IN DISABILITY VS MINIMUM WAGES ALLOWS THIS!! I couldn't believe it and had to look it up myself! I'm furious!!

[By the way.... this isn't how every Goodwill operates. I was in Georgia lately and found a ton of good deals and lots of tags with the color of the week.]

I DON'T SEE ANY BENEFITS TO MY AREA FROM THIS LOCAL EUSTIS/MT DORA GOODWILL! THEY SHOULD BE REPORTED TO CORPORATE!!

Save your money...go to yard sales or Etsy or FB marketplace. At least you would be helping an individual and not a greedy...

Has decent stuff although I think the Leesburg location has more/better selection of what I personally look for but there's not much they can do about that. The manager is great and the young blonde cashier is even better, she's very friendly, but, there's an older lady who was working the night shift on the Sunday I went who was extremely rude! I wanted to exchange a jacket I bought for something a little warmer, I had a receipt and tagbut the tag wasn't attached, which she didn't even know when I first walked up to her, and the way she looked and talked to me when I told her I wanted to exchange the jacket was like I was stupid for even asking. Then she proceeded to tell me the tag had to be attached and that it couldn't be exchanged and that was final then pointed to the receipt which I assume started that. While I was browsing through the clothes I heard her scream at a child about something being glass and to not touch it and when the younger girl went up to her she very loudly started saying well she shouldn't be touching it that it could've broke and hurt her etc. That being said she was right in her intentions I suppose but her execution was poor, she didn't need to scream at the child or pretty much yell about her feelings on the situation to the other employee. Mind you I was near the bedding area in the far left corner of the store and she was near the toy/ dressing room area which is almost the complete other side of the store and I heard almost everything she had said clearly. As the store closed I asked the younger employee ( the friendly girl) about my exchange, since my daughter had found a jacket that she really needed and instead of turning me away like the other did, she called the manager and he was kind enough to help me out which was greatly appreciated! Thank you my daughter loves her jacket and she is nice...
