I am generally not fond of going ācar shoppingā, Iām just not-and I have had instances where Iāve felt like I was looked at just as a āsaleā or as an āeasy targetā by salespeople and maybe in a way that has made me jaded when it comes to being sold a vehicle, but I always give credit when/where it is deserved, because I had a truly awesome experience with not only this dealership-but a truly Beautiful car sales lady that sold me my next vehicle. Her name is Ariella Anderson, I just canāt rave enough about her- because if it she wasnāt there the second time I did go back, my business would not have been given to this dealership and I never would have driven away w/ the 2022 Chevrolet Equinox that she sold me.
I had initially gone to this dealership a few days beforehand-but I had gone later in the day on a Saturday-not realizing their closing time was an hour away. After chatting with a different car sales dude, he brought out the Chevy Equinox and I instantly just fell in love with that SUV. The rental my car insurance gave me was a 2024 GMC Terrain, and I wanted something that was close to the same thing as that rental. But The original car sales dude?-in my own humble opinion-made me uncomfortable/irate/P.Oād and then also had me feeling rushed- he gave me figures and numbers that kind of seemed jumbled & unrealistic-but basically and most importantly, I ended up leaving that dealership not thinking that I was going to give them my business. Time was kinda running out as far as securing a new vehicle was concerned, and it wasnāt until about 2 days later when on a whim-I went back to the dealership and I kind of went back in their āat their mercyā or rather ālike a cat with its tail between itās legsā, I really didnāt want to see the same car dude that I had seen previously (I was dreading that, TBH)-BUT to my surprise, Ariella greeted me and hereās where my review comes into play, here (sit back w/ some popcorn and a soda):
Not only was it a huge āHail Maryā that the previous sales dude was NOT there, but it was entirely a huge blessing to be greeted by someone who didnāt look at me like a walking paycheck that had entered the dealership. She actually took the time to find out more about me-why I was looking for a vehicle-what I wanted in that vehicle, and what shocked me was that she had actually been driving home at the scene of my car accident the 2 weeks before on the opposite side of traffic when my previous vehicle was totaled and I was being carried out on a stretcher into an ambulance. The stars had aligned and it was as though stopping by Sam Boswell GMC (for that second encounter) was truly meant to be. And I give all the credit to, Ariella Anderson.
Ariella-Thank you so so so much! You might not consider yourself to be a āseasoned car sales personā, but trust in this- Iām truly not an easy buyer & you sold me not just from meeting you! But it was also your warm and empathetic nature that sold the deal in my eyes! You were so great to me and my family- I canāt tell you just how great you were! For those in the market for a New/Used vehicle-You will have to see/go in for yourself. But Ariella is the woman that you want to sell you your next vehicle, that is all I can say! (And if you are in the market for a GMC/Chevy/Buick-DONāT GO- I REPEAT-DO NOT GO to any other GMC/Chevy dealership-Especially the Fruitland Park/Villages dealerships-IYKYK š¤·š»āāļøšš¤·š»āāļø)
Ask for Ariella Anderson at Sam Boswell GMC-seriously, you wonāt regret it! I even made sure that the total commission of that vehicle transaction went to HER and SOLELY her-because it was set up in the system initially as the previous car sales dude getting the commission-and I soooo wasnāt having that and made sure to talk to the Sales manager and have that commission given to her in itās entirety! She was the true hero of that whole deal-and not all heroes wear capes! Some heroes hand you car keys after being traumatized by a car accident, and she was truly such a joy...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOriginally gave a 1 star but since they somewhat communicated and halfway made the situation correct Iāve given them another star.
I originally wrote out a very detailed review with receipts, text, emails etc but Iāll just give you the gist.
Purchased a 2021 Mazda CX5 with 32,000 miles for their full asking price. Test drove the car but not above 60mph as the dealership is not located near an interstate. Drove the car home, again never going above 60mph. Fast forward 2 weeks and we take a trip to Orlando from Flagler Beach which requires interstate driving. The moment the car went above 60mph it started to shake horribly. I texted Scott the salesman who told me that it was that the tires need balancing and something about a weight the size of a chicklet. Myself nor my husband are car people and know very little about car maintenance. Anyhow I take the car the next day to Tires Plus and they discover the tires are shot, unsafe and have begun to separate on the inside of the tires.
I then text Scott the salesman and did not receive a response for a couple of days. In the meantime I took the car to Tire Kingdom where they told me the same and showed one of the tires on the balance machine which it had a terrible āhopā. They also pointed out 8 of those āchickletā weights on the inside of the rim. The manager of the Tire Kingdom said it was clear that this car needed new tires, they were unsafe to drive on and that the dealership decided not to disclose this when selling the car but rather attempt to hide the issue by ābalancingā the tires with the weights.
At this point again I am told the car needs a new set of tires. I relay all of this information via text to Scott in which I did not receive a response for a couple of days. Being that the tires were unsafe and I was getting no communication from the dealership I went ahead and paid the $840 for a new set of tires to be installed and left the dealership a 1 star review. The dealership was not communicating or responding to text, theyāre located 1.5hrs away and I couldnāt wait as the tires were unsafe to drive on. My husband then receives a call while at work from the manager who agrees to reimburse half the cost of the tires if I email him the receipt. My husband did not have time to argue so he said that he would speak with me and weād be in touch. I drafted a very articulate email explaining the situation to which I have not received a response but did receive a check in the mail for $400.
To sum up my experience with the Sam Boswell dealership, I purchased a vehicle for their full asking price and two weeks later I had to shell out almost $900 for new tires. I didnāt haggle with them and we didnāt even think to check the tires as we were under the impression we were purchasing this car from an honest dealership. Also the finance manager will be rude to you once you decline their extended warranty package but that is an entire different matter. I feel as the buyer completely taken advantage of and I do not feel that I should have to pay any amount of money towards new tires. So at this point Iām out $450, not to mention the time, frustration and flat out BS myself and my husband have endured buying this car. Absolutely the worst...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy wife and I were looking to purchase a dually needed to pull our RV fifth wheel. Originally I was shopping online for a dually, particularly a GMC because we really liked our Sierra 3500 but it was a single rear wheel. This lead me to Sam Boswell Buick GMC in Mt. Dora, Fl. I found a 2024 Sierra dually with the DuraMax engine and Allison transmission on their website and really liked what the truck had to offer! So I set up an appointment online with the dealership. When my wife and I arrived at the dealership for our appointment, the truck I was looking at online was not available so we looked at a similar dually on the lot. This was because the truck I found on their website was en route from another state and had not yet arrived. The truck they had on the lot was a Denali and not the Sierra SLT which is very similar in drive train and tow packages, but has more bells and whistles than the Sierra SLT.. This is where we met Cesar. Cesar was our salesman and I have to say he is the best salesman I ever encountered when purchasing a vehicle! He is knowledgeable, works at your pace with no pressure, and looks to getting you the best deal he can on a new vehicle! After looking at the Denali, we really liked the truck and how it came pre-set for a fifth wheel hitch, so we put a down payment on the Sierra SLT coming in. When our truck we ordered came in, unfortunately it did not come in with the fifth wheel tow hitch package, which was the reason we ordered the truck. When it comes to buying a dually most are looking for the tow package and the weight rating. Well of course my wife and I were really disappointed this was not the ācompleteā truck we thought we ordered and we were looking to walk away and look elsewhere. But this is why Iām saying they are amazing at Sam Boswell Buick GMC! Cesar went right to work to make things right and got Chaz and Steve involved. Chaz handles the financing and has a little more knowledge with these particular pickups as well as Steve who also is the general manager of Sam Boswell Buick GMC. Before we could think of walking away Steve was working on resolving this issue and he did! Steve called someone he knew with experience in installing tow packages who could put in a fifth wheel setup and Sam Boswell covered the total cost! Most dealerships would have said āoh well, sorryā; and would have sold it as is or sent you down the road. But not this team, they went right to work and made it right! Sam Boswell is family owned and family oriented and I highly recommend Sam Boswell in Mt Dora, Fl, just an...
