Samvay's Wings & Subs — Restaurant in Mount Holly

I found Samvay’s by looking on Google maps using “wing” as a search word because I wanted Buffalo style wings for a light dinner. The rating of 4.9 with plenty of reviews had me driving towards Samvay’s. I was a bit surprised it’s a gas station/convenience store/restaurant without gas. I went in anyway and ordered some wings, crispy with mild sauce. Both counter help gentlemen I spoke to were very nice, polite and were glad to describe some of their other menu items. I like my wings crispy and have no issue waiting a few minutes longer for them. The very sweet lady who brought me my wings apologized twice for the delay which wasn’t really a delay in my opinion. So, how were the wings and the Ranch style dipping sauce...excellent. They were crispy without being dried out or over cooked. The ‘mild’ sauce was a bit hotter than expected but it had so much flavor that I greatly enjoyed it. This looks like a family business that I’ll be glad to visit again when I’m in this area. Ate here a lot recently. I never have thought that I would be eating pho at a little convience store/diner. Samvay's is great! Awesome place to go when you can't decide what you want. They offer American food subs, burgers, wings, and fries to Asian cuisine such as pho, fried rice, egg rolls, and a huge chicken on a stick for $1.99. They let you choose all the topping you want on your subs and burgers without any extra charge. Everything is made fresh from order. The only reason it is short one star is because of the parking and older building. But the inside setting is casual and relax. It is a great place for that small town dining experience. For the amazing price and the selection of food they provide, this is a great experience everytime! This is the best Pho & Sub you can buy in Gaston County! Plus, the owners are fantastic! This place wasn’t anything fancy, but it sure was delicious. It was the best convenience store food I’ve ever eaten!

We ordered the beef pho, chicken pad thai, and fried rice, which we asked to make vegetarian. All were incredibly flavorful and very authentic tasting, and the portions were large. The pho was rich and the basil and chili sauces were great additions. We also ordered the lemon pepper wings, because we felt like we had to given that it’s called Samvay’s Wings and Subs. They were also great - nice and crispy and very lemony. There are drinks from the convenience store for purchase. The service was very fast, and the two owners were lovely. The woman working in the kitchen was super funny! Though you’re seated in an unassuming convenience store, the flavors transport you to Asia.
