Kanji Japanese Restaurant — Restaurant in Mount Joy

We normally have a decent experience with Kanji but tonight we ordered food while quarantining. The first time I ordered, I asked for them to replace the egg noodles with rice noodles in the Lo Mein and stately clearly it was because of an egg ALLERGY. I didn’t realize that lo mein had fried egg in it. I wish they had used to common sense that if we can’t have egg noodles we also couldn’t have the fried egg in the same dish. The ordered arrived and luckily I realized immediately it had egg in it. I then ordered again through GrubHub. This time the delivery driver was given/picked up the totally wrong order. Neither Kanji nor GrubHub did anything to fix it. Kanji offered for us to pick up the order (we are quarantining). And grub hub had no solution except to give us a refund and have us reorder and wait another 45 minutes for our food. That part is not kanji’s issue except that these delivery services and restaurants should have more accountability in delivering what is ordered. There is zero communication between the restaurant and the delivery service. Neither had a solution nor seemed to care that their service...

Best sushi chef EVER! We have dined and enjoyed sushi all over the country and then some, but this is the food that keeps us delighted and coming back! With all their fine attention to flavors, detail and presentation, we recently enjoyed a casual evening at KANJI with soup, Kani salad and our favorites: for me the Kanji Roll and for my husband, Panda roll and Chef's own specialty, the Crocodile which has tuna, salmon, avocado in soy paper topped with yellowtail, jalapeño and black tobiko. If you aren't a sushi fan, no problem. They also have the fried rice, General Tso's Chicken, and a host of other familiar Asian dishes. Can't wait to go again for Honey Walnut Shrimp. Fabulous, fresh food and extremely nice people....

Wait time for food was ridiculous! On-line order placed at 5:40, pick up time at 6:31p. I arrived at the restaurant at 6:30p. Multiple people waiting inside, very small space, no ventilation. Finally received my order at 7p. Unsure of why there was such a delay but seemed as if everyone was waiting & waiting & waiting. I would give one star for efficiency & timing. 4-5stars for food. Sushi & rolls are fantastic. Other dishes so-so. I probably won’t be back. No take out should require that much wait. Very uncomfortable waiting indoors with so many others for my food.
