I really hoped that with a change in ownership the customer service would improve. It is due to an TV ad that I gave them a second chance. The ad said place an order for pick-up using the Sonic app and receive a half-priced Patty Melt. I ordered an Iced Coffee and Breakfast Burrito and added the Patty Melt. My order was placed at 1:02PM and the app said to please arrive by 1:15PM when my order would be ready for pick-up. I arrived at 1:12PM and pulled into a stall and followed the app's newest instruction which was simply to click "I'm Here" and input my stall number. When I did the screen next to my vehicle changed and displayed my name and where my order was in its process. The clock reached 1:20 and the screen changed again to very large and bold letters to announce "Alexia will deliver your order very soon." Now I should point out that I was the only vehicle at the stalls upon my arrival and it remained so until I left. The drive-thru received four customers after my arrival. All the drive-thru customers were served and were long gone meanwhile I still waited. 22 minutes later a high school aged boy finally brought my order out. I asked how is it that drive up customers could order and leave so quickly when I was under the impression that my order was already in the works and would be ready shortly after my arrival. He just shrugged and said he didn't know. The worst part was the order was cold and did not have any of the customizations I ordered through the app. You would think that after taking such an inordinate amount of time they could at least get the order correct. For those of you unfamiliar with the vintage concept of a drive-in restaurant, one pulls into a parking stall, orders, & waits for food to come to the car. A modern twist of the 1950's service model, you can order by pressing the "big red button" or in the app (there are extra discounts in the app). Then you decide whether to eat in your car, drive home with your yummies, or try one of the outdoor tables. The interior is just one big kitchen: no customers allowed. This location also has a drive thru if that is more your speed.
The entire menu is available open to close. Burger & onion rings with your morning coffee? You do you. French toast sticks with your after-dinner shake? No problem. I do advise skipping the sausage&pancake on a stick. Like the corndogs, they arrive frozen, unlike the corndogs, the pancake heats much faster than the sausage. It makes it tricky to have both hot sausage & unburnt pancake.
If you are a Sonic regular, you are probably familiar with the "Smile Tray" which is a car hop circulating with extra condiments, straws, and napkins. Unfortunately, so far, this location is usually understaffed. Even if the two or three employees typically on duty aren't slammed, they don't want to get a sudden rush at drive through if one is roaming the lot. When I arrived in the stall, I was told that the drive thru was only open, so proceeding into that, my order was taken very quickly and unprofessionally. When I arrived at the window to pick up my food, the girl working (the only employee there) was unprofessional and lacking customer service skills. She just stared at us to give our payment method, and then got our food. My biggest disappointment was the popcorn chicken. It was completely unedible. This chicken was burnt to a crisp and the sad excuse for chicken inside the burnt crust was no better. It broke off because it was that burnt. I couldn't even eat it and had to throw it away immediately. The reese's cup sonic blast was mostly plain. It barely had any candy pieces in it. It was basically just plan ice cream. I am very disappointed in this sonic, for one because I drove 30 minutes to get here, and 2, because I remember it being so much better to look forward to. To be honest don't waste your time coming here and dealing with incompetentcy, overpriced food and horrible service. Next time I'll just go to chick fil a, as they are at least the only fast food that is reliable, fairly priced, and has outstanding service.
