Same old flavors every time we go. Need to find a new spot. They need to get Hershey's ice cream it is sooo much creamier. Left without buying and went to the grocery store. Slower than slow service.
Went to Little Dippers to get a dish of ice cream for my husband. The shop was busy, however, I watched one of the staff come out and wash the tables down with a dirty grey bucket of water then go back into the inside of the shop and count money. Then this same young girl waited on a customer getting their cone and ice cream order WITHOUT WASHING HER HANDS!! The customer was eating that dirty water and dirty money residue!! Another girl dropped something on the floor, picked it up and never washed her hands before waiting on someone else. Ugh! This ice cream shop is in bad need of an adult to oversee what is going on in the shop. I was waiting to get waited on, standing there for over 10 to 15 minutes and the girl turn the open sign over to closed. I didn't think anything of it as i was standing there. The last person received their order got in their car and left. I just kept standing there waiting for someone to wait on me. It NEVER happened. All the staff kept looking at me, and I thought what is going on, as they kept their backs to me LAUGHING!! I finally knocked on the window and a girl came to the window and said, "We're closed." I told her I understand that but I was here waiting while you were still open, watched you turn the sign around, and no one took my order. She just reiterated again saying "We're closed." The big tall blonde girl kept laughing and MAKING JOKES!! I did get angry and tell them I wanted waited on and they said, "No were are closed." I told them I was going to contact the owner and she snarky remarked, "OK go ahead, have a nice night" and closed the window." I was furious to be treated so badly. This is the second time the same thing happened to me where they would not wait on me because the time on the clock had passed even though I was there before closing. I thought after the first 2 bad experiences I would give it another try since it is local but after what I saw and they way the staff treats customers; I am finished, THIS PLACE...
Read moreThe ice cream is awesome! The PSU flavors phenomenal. The service stinks! I am visiting from Maryland and thought I’d treat my daughter and I to some ice cream before I head back on the road. The website says they were open today until 1:00, then reopen at 4:00. I called ahead (about 12:15) before driving in that direction to make sure they had the ice cream I wanted and when I asked to clarify that they were open til 1:00, I was told that they were open through to 4:00. So, I drove there. I pulled up to the drive thru and a young girl came to the window. I said I’d like to order the raspberry swirl ice cream. She said, very abruptly “We’re serving coffee now. We don’t serve ice cream until 4:00” I began to say something and got as far as to say, “I’m here from MD and …” While looking right at me, mid-sentence, she closed the window on me! I actually sat in my car for 15 seconds staring at the window, and thought to myself … did that really just happen? I run a small cafe establishment and if I ever found out that one of my team members treated a guest that way, we would have some serious conversation. While I love their ice cream, and rarely have the opportunity to get there, I will not be going back there again. Totally inexcusable behavior! Having just read other reviews, I hope management steps up and retrains or...
Read moreI used to love coming to this local icecream shop, but unfortunately the prices no longer match the service and quality. My last visit there reminded me why I have been going elsewhere. Yes, PennState creamery is yummy, but hardly worth $8 for a small cone. I would not recommend this place for a family night out due to the high costs. I had to repeat my order several times to the young girl as she was not pay attention. After hearing the price, I'm glad she did get my order wrong as I would've ended up paying $9 for a cone with sprinkles! I was asked if I wanted a dish for my cone (why would I want a dish if I only ordered a cone?) and I quickly realized why after I drove away... the side of the cone was completely busted and me & my car ended up wearing it. Had the girl pointed this out to me, I would've gladly accepted the dish. But again, at an $8 price point, serving broken cones is unacceptable. Little Dippers, you...
